![]() ( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? π ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. If you know what they mean. Wink. (This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.) Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." They can be fixed by indulging in the squares on your cards. For the sake of the TDM, you can use one of the pre-generated examples or a wildcard from the kink list. This can be used as a free bingo square completion once you have been accepted into the game. Players are welcome to wildcard their own TDM prompts; we only ask that you try to stick to the theme. shining shimmering splendid? | hope this is okay!
it's probably for the best he doesn't reach for his blaster; max is unarmed and not looking for a fight, but she's definitely on edge. both her hands are held up as she approaches, not too close, but close enough for him to see her a little better. ]
Yeah, so am I. [ her eyes focus on him and there's a brief flash of recognition when she sees his face, but she doesn't call him by name yet. who knows if he remembers where they'd been? ]
it's perfect also hello c:
She's even going so far as to show him her empty hands, so he can do the same, though he's not putting the flashlight down he's spreading his arms out slightly, holding it loosely to show that it's the only thing he's brandishing, and even that's not pointed directly at her. He doesn't want to get off on the wrong foot here if he can avoid it. ]
Sorry, I guess I should have knocked?
[ BB-9's peering around Poe's legs, quiet for the moment, but something about the tilt of his head definitely looks curious. ]
hi! c: she knew him in another game.
On what door? [ it's sort of a joke, but not really, since the structures she's seen so far tend to look more ruins than buildings. ]
yay for awkward times ahead
What else can a person do when they're thrown into an impossible situation? ]
I don't know about you, but we haven't found much of anything useful in any of these buildings yet. It seems like whoever lived here before must have just packed up and left a long time ago.
[ There's no signs of a struggle, not that he's seen. No scorch marks, no suspicious holes in the walls or stains, it's just like the people that were here vanished. Maybe kind of like how they appeared. It's hard to say. And the local robots aren't exactly helpful. Still, all things considered this could be a whole lot worse. He doesn't feel like he's in a thinly veiled prison, for one thing. Or a not-at-all veiled prison. No one's tried to stop him from going anywhere yet, aside from turning right back to the hospital that he unceremoniously ushered out of several hours ago. ]
can't wait!
I haven't been looking that long, but that's about the conclusion I've come to, too.
[ she's noticed the same lack of struggle he has, along with a lack of concern for radiation or significant destruction - everything she's seen thus far appears to be in an advanced state of disrepair, but there's not a clear reason why. all she's heard is that they were brought here to help restore it. she's been doing her best not to think too hard about how they're meant to restore it. ]

[ There's no way to know for sure. The robots haven't been giving up any answers, when he's been able to pin one down at all, and he has no way of prying anything out of them, even with BB-8's help. But he's too stubborn to give up too quickly, even if he's recognizing that figuring out exactly where they are and why they're here is probably going to be more of a long term project than something they're going to figure out in a day or two.
Which is just his kind of luck lately. ]
So where did they drag you in from?
[ This isn't his first time being unceremoniously dropped off onto an alien planet. So he's taking it about as well as could be reasonably expected. ]

thankfully it's not enough to actually stab anything, but it sure is a close call. ]
......
[ but since poe isn't reaching for his blaster and what's shining in his face is clearly just a light, chikage blinks a couple of times before he
lowers his knife just a little bit.
just enough so that it's not an overt threatening motion. ]
Ah. Sorry about that. I thought I heard intruders and I wasn't entirely sure if you were hostile.

It's fine, I didn't know someone was already in here. Hard to tell with these places.
[ They all look unoccupied, at best. A lot of them apparently don't even have electricity, which isn't all that surprising given the state of things. But Poe's not looking for a place to stay right now, he's looking for whatever answers these places might have, since the robots aren't giving many up.
Without much luck, honestly. ]
Have you run into any hostiles around here?
no subject
[ it's asked with a wry smile, especially in the first instance. thankfully, chikage will do the same, so there's a comfortable amount of space between them, and so that it's clearly visible when chikage flips the blade of his pocket knife back into the holder and then drops the whole thing back into the pocket of his jacket. ]
Thankfully, no. Mostly people who were looking for shelter before the weather turned.
What about you? ... Honestly, I would have thought there would be more bandits or that sort around the area since it looks like a prime location.
[ speaking from Experience, maybe. ]
no subject
[ For some given value of 'fine,' but that's got nothing to do with any injuries he might have picked uo while poking around these places. He's just got a lot on his mind at the moment. A lot of questions without answers. It's not like that's anything unique though, they're all going through that to one degree or another. Even the people who have been through something like this before. ]
If there was anything out here worth stealing maybe, yeah, I'd expect that too. But as far as I can tell there isn't anything here in town, and nothing too close on the edge of the city, so maybe it's just too remote to be useful.
[ Yeah, he... might have some Experience there too. ]
Have you met anyone you recognize?
