TDM 001: TFLU

( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe ( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? 🍆 ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. If you know what they mean. Wink. (This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.) Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." [Rather, he's going to use that as a chance to scope out the place and try to find the man wearing a scarf. From their brief texting, he didn't seem like the pleasant sort, so Ruggie would much rather just separate him from his snacks the old-fashioned way!]

( frankly, he doesn't expect anyone to tell the truth around here, and ruggie is no exception. with a discerning eye, it's pretty easy for him to spot anyone who wasn't here before, and anyone approaching would get an additional stare. even more so if they look suspicious? or dumb. especially dumb.

[That would be where the telltale ping of the communication device gives him away...]

[... except for the fact he took it off and tucked it somewhere safe. It was a risky move. He couldn't understand anything anyone said without it. Still, it was better than getting exposed.]

[In fact, in fact, he's going to approach his mark directly, with a confused and worried look on his face.]

( how brazen of a strategy: directly confronting your target? the expression is... not quite what he expects, given how voracious of an appetite it seemed like had through text. carefully, akechi's gloved hand moves to his side, while the other stays inside his pocket after the message was seemingly ignored. )

[Yeah, he can't understand a goddamn word Akechi just said. That was fine, it was easy enough to guess from context.]

Hey, [he waved his hands. You know, he couldn't understand Akechi but could Akechi still understand him? ... probably, right? Ah, well, either way.]

That thing, [pointing to his naked wrist]

Someone took off with mine! What's gonna happen if I don't have it?...

[what trouble he's in!! wow! such distress!!]

( huh. well, that's unfortunate--- for ruggie. less so for akechi, who's still got his on. thankfully his hasn't been stolen? or that anyone had the courage to do so without being caught.

but he shrugs, looking around to see if he notices anyone who might be fleeing... or look suspicious. nope, only ruggie. )

They'll probably give you another one. ( a beat, then: ) Or kill you for losing it.

( said nonchalantly with a smirk. )

But I don't know what you're expecting of me. Why should I help you?

[Wow! Wow, if he felt any guilt for trying to steal from him (he didn't) it was gone now (it was never there)!]

[... Not that he can actually understand what the guy's saying. He just has a very punchable face. Good-looking, sure, but punchable. Reminds him of Azul or Vil.]

Can I see yours? If I keep sending it messages I'll be able to find it, right?

[Of course, it's not like he can explain why he's worth helping. He didn't even understand the question. And, really, that's not the point. The point is to get a little closer, a little closer, and get into the other person's personal bubble. He sweeps around to Akechi's side, to try and get a better look at his communication device (while also keeping track of how many pockets and where they were located).]

( punchable is a compliment.

but will ruggie account for the pockets that lined his jacket? maybe, maybe not. either way with his jacket properly zipped, it'd probably require some effort to get the hidden cookie out of the one inside. still, it's not like akechi is going to just allow ruggie to touch the bracelet he's been given, and he gives the other a bump with his hip. )

( there's this odd feeling that, even though he's getting more and more agitated, that he isn't in enough danger to call loki and give this... hm, cosplayer??? a piece of his mind. )

[Those ones were a lot more difficult. That usually needed to give someone an excuse to open their jacket, which was difficult considering the level of distrust in the air already.]

[Still, he'll use the fact that he's invading Akechi's personal space as a distraction to slip his hand into a free and available pocket. He can't tell what Akechi's saying but he can tell he's bothering him. Which, well, was totally intended.]

Pleeeee~ase help me, [he'll plead, feigning all the distress in the world.]

( okay. listen, he can feel that hand in his one pocket. he's calmly aware that there's nothing of worth (unless lint is worth something) inside. but as long as he doesn't try to do anything like reach underneath his coat or try to unzip it, akechi's willing to just let the guy be handsy... for now.

he rolls his eyes, raising his bracelet up to his face so he could send a rapid fire string of messages. )

You may not understand me, but you better watch yourself.

( his voice is a hiss, letting his tone do the talking. )

[Either he was lying or the treat was tucked away somewhere even more complicated.]

[The tone is easy enough to understand, even if he doesn't get any individual words. He was going to have to be careful not to push things too far.]

[... is it pushing it too far to have those hands that were checking his pockets simply slip around his waist like he's an overly-familiar foreigner? It's harmless, right? Right?]

( it is not harmless. it is, however, not the opposite of harmless--- it's annoying and akechi can feel his eye twitch from growing irritation. it's when he feels like he's being... almost groped that has him smack at ruggie's hands. )

Stop! God, what are you doing.

( and then he remembers. )

Oh. You could've just asked.

( reaching into his jacket, he pulls out... A GUN the packet of cream sandwich cookies. )
