TDM 001

TDM 001: TFLU

( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm.

Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person.

It's time for...

Texts From Last Universe

( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?!
( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit)

( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending:

Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor.

10/10 would ride it into the sunset.

This user thinks you're attractive.

u up?

🍆

( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!"

Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices.

If you know what they mean.

Wink.

(This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.)

Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." They can be fixed by indulging in the squares on your cards. For the sake of the TDM, you can use one of the pre-generated examples or a wildcard from the kink list. This can be used as a free bingo square completion once you have been accepted into the game. Players are welcome to wildcard their own TDM prompts; we only ask that you try to stick to the theme.

It's better to be lost with a friend than to be lost alone.

[Melfina seems very matter-of-fact when she says this, though she hasn't really known him long enough to call him 'friend.' But that is simply how she is. Mel's naivete seems to know very few bounds and considering he is not a pirate and she is not certain she is as valuable as she once was...

She has little reason to believe he would otherwise know anything about her or what she once represented. ...Still represents? She's not wholly certain. There remain unanswered questions. Many of them. Several that she still seeks the answers to.]

When we find it, if the Outlaw Star isn't there, do you think we could send a signal to it?

[ he doesn’t really give any indication otherwise to ‘friend’, and lets her call him as she wishes. there are worst things to be called, after all, and he’s certainly been on the receiving end of a lot of them, but ‘friend’ isn’t a bad word to say. it’s just not his to claim, given how vidar views himself.

vidar walks easily with her. ]

That’s a curious name.

And if we have the equipment, certainly. I myself have a few messages to send that I’d like to try out.

[She falls in stride with him, though as what appears to be a bit characteristic of her, Melfina takes every so often to pause and look at things that catch her interest. Given that it's a new place, a new locale, she is still quite capable of viewing the world in awe.

But these little idle moments don't last long. At least, she won't let them. Another time, perhaps, to get better acquainted.]

Gene named it.

[Something she's always been curious about, actually. She understood the colour remotely. The name, however...

Her attention turns when he continues and she nods.]

Are you trying to contact people from your home, too?

... mostly so my work knows where I am. I have a pretty demanding employer and a rather expensive piece of equipment they’re funding, I can imagine how upset they are that I’m not around.

[ he doesn’t really have any other reasons to contact his home. ]

You think you could actually reach them?

[Because for some reason, she seems to think they are all likely a good distance away. She doesn't know, of course, but...

Well. Nothing's impossible, right?]

I hope you can. It sounds like being here is inconvenient for you.
