![]() ( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? π ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. If you know what they mean. Wink. (This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.) Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." They can be fixed by indulging in the squares on your cards. For the sake of the TDM, you can use one of the pre-generated examples or a wildcard from the kink list. This can be used as a free bingo square completion once you have been accepted into the game. Players are welcome to wildcard their own TDM prompts; we only ask that you try to stick to the theme. Without a real proper way to address the matter regarding Gene, she didn't have an immediate answer.]
I'm better now.
[Because Aisha was there naturally.] Is it just you and me?

She looked around, half-expecting Gilliam to pop up with some factual yet dorky tidbit.]
Looks like it. Probably for the best, can you imagine Suzu in this dump?
[The assassin's face would say it all, and all of it would be bad. Funny, but Twilight Suzuka would be impossible to get along in a place like this.]

But so did Aisha. Beasts with different stripes, really. Mel would have felt safe with either one of them. Wasn't that all that mattered at the end of it all?]
Oh, I don't know. She could handle herself. Just like you. And the others. But if she is, we should do what we can to reunite.
[Fortune had a way of eventually running out, however. Melfina couldn't say if they shared the space with any of the rest of their ragtag crew. She wasn't about to hold her proverbial breath over it either. No sense in worrying about anything she didn't have control over.
At least, that was what Gene would have said. Melfina knew she couldn't make a very good Gene 2.0, but... She could try. Or Aisha could simply do it for her.]
I think it's just us, though. I'm relieved you're here.

[Aisha's one to talk... and while she knows Jimmy and Gene would both be okay, not having to worry about their Terran fragility was a relief. Than again, Jim would have these dumb robots whipped into shape in no time.
Hmm, reuniting...]
We should find some paint when we find a place and... maybe open the shop, if we're stuck here for long! I'm okay with odd jobs, and if the name's out there they should know we're behind it.
[The world didn't need any more Genes, she'd argue.]
Me too. We never get to just hang out! There are better places, but it'll be nice to spend time together.

Melfina had to admit that some normalcy wouldn't have been horrible. Even in a foreign place, with the two of them working together, it was almost be no different from if they were on Sentinel III or Heifong. Perhaps they'd actually get something done. Mel could keep her on the straight and narrow and Aisha was slightly more dependable than their fearless captain.]
We've... had a little time together, haven't we?
[She seemed to recollect some time when they were researching the Leyline... But that whole thing...]
There's no time like the present, Aisha. Putting everything together sounds daunting, though. I don't know how Gene and Jim did it so many times.

[In some ways, Melfina was the most wanted person in the whole of space.
Of course, Aisha had no idea of the practical parts of running a business. Had that ever stopped her before? Of course not, and besides, she'd be bored to tears if she didn't do something while they looked for a way home.
A firm nod, and then-]
We'll get started right away. It was probably hard but this place doesn't have anything, so there's no competition!

Of course as things stood... Melfina wasn't certain she held the same level of importance as she once had. It seemed wiser not to say that. At least not yet.]
That's... true, I guess. I'm sure we'll be able to get a lot of business. But Aisha? I don't exactly know how to run Starwind and Hawking Enterprises. And the Ctarl-Ctarl don't operate like a business, do they?
[...Melfina wondered just how they were going to even begin. They'd need a place. That was first and foremost.]

[Her word was sacrosanct. When she decided things happened, no matter what it took. If Melfina didn't know that, no problem. She'd just show her. But something was a little more pressing.
Yes, more pressing than Aisha proving a point.]
Have you seen anywhere you're okay with crashing for the night? I want to secure something better for the long term, but for now one of these crappy buildings will haveta do.
no subject
Having something left up to her... Well. That was almost unheard of.]
Well... If they're all... [Crappy? Crappy. Mel sounds so strange using the same terminology. But maybe a little endearing, too.] ...crappy, then it won't really matter where we stay, will it? We can't stay out here. I mean, it's probably not safe. Let's just... pick a place. We'll figure out more in the morning.
