TDM 001: TFLU

( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe ( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? 🍆 ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. [he feels the buzz of an incoming text against his wrist, and he's not entirely invested in uncovering the 12th thirst text since he's arrived here, holding both arms behind his back and crossing around his wrists, to give a good stretch. thank god he's not charging, because Prompto is broke as hell right now.

unless they take gil around these parts? even then, it's not like he's loaded. he never managed party funds, especially not after spending quite a huge sum to adopt a chocobo.

That, and. I don't really like being alone, I guess. I mean- uh. You look like you need company anyway. [he pivots, offering a casual sort of dismissal of his admission here.]

[Omi doesn't have any yen besides whatever is in his pocket. It doesn't really seem like there's much in the way of shops to peruse to begin with. They're probably going to be stuck trading unless there's some hidden currency around here.]

I don't mind company.

[He's also not about to pry into anybody's insecurities when he has so many he's trying to work through.]

[how far will 800 gil get him in this environment? what's the gil-to-yen exchange rate like these days? but more importantly, where the hell is all the food on this island? despite the fact there's an iron fist (literally) ruling this place, it has to know the basic necessities of humans goes beyond, uh. getting freaky.]

Not common where you're from?

[Prompto looks like the last person to be a bodyguard, in every sense of the world. lean and sort of lanky, he's got all the physical prowess one of those purse dogs. but besides that, namedropping royalty is one of the nicer perks of the job. they don't need to know what a nightmare he is to wake up in the morning after setting up camp for the night.

what does catch his attention, though, is finding out that Omi is kindred spirit in the world of art. he's never met an actor before, either, and yeah- that's really neat, but once he's got the itch to talk about photography, it doesn't settle down until it's out of his system.]

No way! You'll have to show me some of your stuff.

[speaking of which, he still has his on him, as he reaches down for his camera to pull up.]

[Prompto looks like a skinny stick of a man, but Omi is also entirely too polite to say any of that out loud. Of all the things to arrive with, his camera is a plus. Though he's not entirely sure how he's going to get more film..]

Mine usually ended up edited by our graphic designer before being made into posters.

[putting two and two together, he's starting to get an understanding of how being an actor and a photographer can play together. he's sent some of his pics to publishing sources before, but it's never really been a chief concern of his when he's taking shots.

he looks over to the hospital entrance, and thinks for a moment.]

I bet this place would make for a really great movie poster. Some sort of horror series, you know? Where there's this, like, psycho killer on the rampage and he's chasing a group of young adults through an abandoned town and, [why.] wow, I think I'm starting to freak myself out.

I was a photographer before I was ever an actor.

[He just ended up getting recruited as an actor because of... a whole host of reasons. It would take a while to get into them now, so he'll just skip over it.]

A horror series, huh? It looks a lot like our second play. An apocalypse happened and now what's left of humanity has to fight to survive using every method possible.

There probably aren't any killers around here.
