( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe ( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? 🍆 ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. If you know what they mean. Wink. (This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.) Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." I can't say that I've never been there. usually under extenuating circumstances though
I guess it's not like there's a cantina around here where you can talk to someone over a few drinks

I'm curious what counts as extenuating circumstances if waking up in a very strange place doesn't make the list.
Found that out the hard way. Could have used a stiff one.

Alright. And if I find a pub or even an old liquor store I'll let you know. [Yes, apparently they're making an alcohol pact. John's only experience with cantinas are of the Mexico and South America kind, so he assumes it's just a local watering hole and there's no other reason to go there.]

Plenty of places in my galaxy. It's still strange to me that you're all stuck on the one planet.

Galaxy? Whereabouts are you from then? Are there cantinas in the galaxy?

We're not done ruining the one planet yet you know. Give it a few years at least.

I grew up on a planet called Yavin 4, and yeah, obviously. Different drinks, same general idea.

Ruining the one planet before you can even travel to another seems like a pretty bad idea.

How many Yavins are there?

That's just how things work around Earth. Nobody gets their arses in gear or throws money at shite until the world is ending.

Thirteen, technically, but not all of them are inhabited by any sentient species. My parents decided to live there after the war.

That's a pretty common problem, and not just with humans. It's a lot easier to ignore a problem than to do something about it.

Lovely place or a blink and you'll miss it kind of planet?

Ever came to this place before then?

Yavin 4 in particular? It's mostly jungle. Pretty, but it can be dangerous. You've got those on Earth too, right?

Not specifically, I'm just seeing a lot of common themes.

Jungles? Sure. Not a big fan though. I'm partial to big cities.

Are there cantinas in the jungle?

[ The way he says it just makes Poe think of a cantina out in the middle of the jungle with a bunch of woolamamders hanging off of it. It's pretty funny. ]

There might be one now. When I was a kid it was pretty much just my family, but apparently there's an actual colony out there now.

When was the last time you've been back?

About twelve years or so, I guess. My Dad and I haven't always gotten along very well, and then I got involved in a rebellion, so you know, I've been busy.

What about you anyway, where are you from?

[conjobs]

[He was a bit of a rebel himself, back in the day. A rebellion sounds real fucking serious though.]

I'm from an old city called Liverpool. Bit of a shitehole if you ask me. No jobs, no money, no future. I'm sure it's all changed now, but I left home a long time ago and never really needed to go back.

[ He was a rebel too, but the Resistance is something else. ]

When I did go back, it just wasn't the same, you know? The universe keeps moving on with or without us.

Better off remembering the good times anyway, than going back and seeing everything gone.
