![]() ( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? 🍆 ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. If you know what they mean. Wink. (This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.) Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." They can be fixed by indulging in the squares on your cards. For the sake of the TDM, you can use one of the pre-generated examples or a wildcard from the kink list. This can be used as a free bingo square completion once you have been accepted into the game. Players are welcome to wildcard their own TDM prompts; we only ask that you try to stick to the theme. [ Alright, sorry Poe she's bailing from this hug to rush over to her very best droid buddy, dropping down onto her knees so she can give him a proper greeting with a big smile. She pats down his casing just to make sure he's all in one piece and adjusting his antennae juuuuust slightly. ]
Poe didn't tell me you were here too.
[ She shoots back a waggish look over her shoulder, like how could you forget to mention the droid, Poe?? before she stands again, brushing off her knees. It's a nice reunion, almost enough to make her momentarily forget the reality of their situation. Almost. ]
So.
[ A beat. There's a lot in that 'so,' while Rey sort of awkwardly shifts her weight between her feet. ]
I have questions but I don't really know where to start. You said something like this has happened to you before?
[ It's not that she doesn't believe him, she just... is having trouble conceptualizing that this is happening now but also is just confused about when. ]

And he can appreciate the moment of respite from everything else they're dealing with right now. Their mutual love for one very special BB unit, that's something that doesn't change no matter what happens or where — or when — they end up.
It doesn't last long. Then she's looking at him expectantly again, and he's folding his arms, not so much defensive as not looking forward to this conversation. He knew he'd probably have to have it at some point, and this is not the most difficult one it could have been, but still. It's not great. ]
Yeah. One minute I was on Ajan Kloss and the next I was waking up on a planet in a completely different galaxy. Kind of like this, except before it was an actual city, not just the ruins of one.
[ He can't blame her for being confused. There's a lot about it that he still doesn't understand. ]

[ She settles with her arms crossed over her chest and surveys their surroundings once more with that thought. At least downed starships are meant to be abandoned. She can't quite say the same thing for homes and building. It wasn't enough to keep her from exploring or collecting random bits and bobs of metal and wire where she found it. ]
But I was just on Ajan Kloss with you--
[ She lets out her own sort of exasperated huff. Honestly the question of time seems to be the least concerning thing about this. ]
Never mind. This place you were before, it had similar... expectations?
[ Is her face going a bit pink? No, never. ]

[ Poe couldn't miss the way her face flushes, not when he's watching her so closely, his expression unusually unreadable. The topic won't make him blush, but it does make him uncomfortable, and not for any of the reasons that she's probably going to assume. He's going to have to tell her everything, sooner rather than later, but maybe he doesn't need to get into that right now. It's not going to make this place any easier to deal with, is it? They've got enough to deal with right in front of it without making it weirder. He just... needs a minute for all of this to sink in. ]
Less specific than these cards they're pushing off on us, but yeah. The point was the same.
[ He pauses, glancing over at her with a slight frown. ]
You've never... done anything like that before?
[ At this point he doesn't know what to expect. She doesn't exactly have a wealth of experience, that's pretty much the only thing he knows for certain at the moment. ]

She bites into her lip, jaw ticking minutely as she flicks her own eyes away. It's not like she was a prude or didn't know the mechanics of sex. It could be a utilitarian arrangement, and that was even more true here. She can almost deal with that better than the alternative. ]
No.
[ The word feels sort of heavy in its admittance. Even the things Rey is a novice in, Rey has mostly taken a jump in with both feet approach. She probably would do that here if it was anyone but Poe or Finn in front of her. Lucky that she had one of them at least.
She shrugs it off, shaking off some of the nervous energy under the guise of rolling her shoulders and folding her arms in front of her. It keeps her stay grounded. ]
It's fine. I'll figure it out. I'm adaptable.

It's that same sense of protectiveness that makes him frown at the idea of her just finding someone passable at random for any of the things they're supposed to be doing. That's just the reality of the situation they're in right now — most of them anyway, but that doesn't mean he likes it. It's only a slight step up from being pushed into it in even less subtle ways, which he's also been subjected to.
She will figure it out, he's sure. Still. ]
You don't have to. [ Is what he eventually settles on, even if it still feels like he's circling around the bantha in the room, so to speak. There's a question, or an offer, there somewhere that he's just... not giving a voice to yet. It shouldn't be this hard, but it is. ] I don't care what they're saying. We'll find a way to make this work until we can get out of here.
[ That's... slightly better? Better than the idea of her seeking someone out just because she thinks it's a life or death situation. ]

Not in some dilapidated city entertaining perverse droids (robots? droids? Whatever).
And while that is her ultimate goal and she has no qualms about being uncooperative and doing things her own way, there had been a very clear line drawn in the metaphorical sand. The expectations couldn't be more obvious if they were tattooed on her arm instead of just projected at her wrist.
She keeps her gaze trained on him. ]
I mean it's supposed to be fun right? I don't think the brothels on Jakku were there just because there was nothing else to do.
[ Well. There was really nothing else to do but that's besides the point. There's a question. An ask hidden in the quip. She wonders if it's too forward, so she's hesitant to say it outright. The last time she tried to make her intentions to a man clear it ended with the Galaxy's worst proposal.
She supposes that if they were going to bring someone from her home she's lucky it isn't the man who made her blood pump in infuriatingly complicated ways. ]

So he'll do his best. It wouldn't hold up all that well to scrutiny from someone like Rey, but she's busy thinking about the other facets to being here, and that's pretty distracting for both of them. But while he's still not entirely sure what he's supposed to do with all of this, he seems to have come to the conclusion that he's just going to see where this goes.
That, and he rarely backs down from anything when Rey's involved. It's not an ego thing, or at least that's what he keeps telling himself. He's just never been one to back down from a challenge, regardless of where it's coming from, and Rey seems to constantly challenge him in a number of ways. Sometimes unintentionally, sometimes he's sure it's very much on purpose. He likes that, honestly. As prone as he is to taking charge of things, it's good to have people who aren't afraid to disagree with him. ]
Yeah. It is. [ They don't usually dance around the obvious issue like this. Poe's used to saying whatever's on his mind with her, especially if it's just the two of them. Unlike Finn, who tends to try to be the moderating influence. ] Are you curious?
[ This is... better than it could have been. She's free to think about these things, and what she wants, without being pressured into it. He's used to it, he can take it, but he doesn't want that to happen to her. ]
no subject
She bites her lower lip, catching it between her teeth while considering her answer. Her hands rest on her hips while she looks away. ]
I'm not... not curious.
[ That feels like a bit of a cop-out. She had, in fact, been more than a little curious. There's just been few opportunities to indulge in that impulse. She turns her eyes back towards him, a slow survey of his most distinct features: his hands, his jaw, his mouth.
He is certainly handsome. Quietly, she'll lay it out there. ]
Would you help me?
[ It feels strange to ask for help. She's usually the one offering it (the memory of a whispered I'll help you rings in the back of her mind) or rebuking it, not actively seeking it out. But, this is decidedly not a solo activity. And she trusts him. That's the important part. ]
no subject
So of course Rey would want someone she knows, someone she trusts, and right now that's just him. It makes perfect sense, he's just not sure how he feels about that. It should be a simple suggestion. Easy, even.
He exhales, stifling it so that it's not a sigh. He doesn't mean it like that. ]
Yeah.
[ He reaches out to her, grasping her shoulder first, meeting her gaze as if he might figure something out there. His hand gradually slides down until he's catching her hand in his, just so that he can give it a reassuring squeeze. It's usually more of Finn's thing than his, but maybe some of that's rubbing off on him. ]
I'll show you whatever you want.
