TDM 001: TFLU

( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe ( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? 🍆 ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. [Lapis watches. It's probably uncomfortable, but as the question is asked, she starts counting on her fingers, which is probably a hopeful sign, until she reaches the pinky on her second hand, looks at Jo, and shrugs.]

Uh... I paying attention past 10,000. A really long time, honestly. What does that have to do with it?

except maybe there is, as johanna starts looking at the other woman more carefully. she'd assumed the blue skin and wings were affectations, some stupid sense of capitol fashion. but now she's not so sure. ] What are you?

Have you ever heard of the Capitol? [ because she had a working theory about what was going on here, but now she's feeling like she might be wrong. ]

... Don't humans have a bunch of Capitols? [How is she to know? She's no human location expert, or whatever they're called.]

Alright, never mind. [ so this really isn't some sort of crazy plot by Snow. or if it is, he's definitely not working alone. johanna sighs, looking up into the sky. ] This is- so fucked.

Sorry, I've only been on earth for a few years. [Not counting the time she was shoved into a mirror and left stranded, anyway! A few years with the freedom of mobility!] I don't really know too much about it other than what I've seen on TV.

[ judging by the fact that she doesn't know the capitol, johanna figures she doesn't live in a place where the hunger games would be broadcasted. so she just snorts, kicking at a bit of debris on the ground. ] Yeah, well. It's not the greatest place. You're not missing out on a whole lot.

[Judging by the tone, Lapis figures that that isn't quite true! At least, that's what she thinks, anyway. It's probably nothing good, and it's probably that this human doesn't feel like talking about it.

Which is absolutely fair. She's been there, but also: She's trying out this whole "being nice" to people. Which means, her voice comes out extremely awkwardly.]

[THANK STARS. Lapis tries very hard to not let her relief at being told off show, but it might slip through. Just a teensy lot.]
