TDM 001

TDM 001: TFLU

( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm.

Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person.

It's time for...

Texts From Last Universe

( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?!
( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit)

( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending:

Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor.

10/10 would ride it into the sunset.

This user thinks you're attractive.

u up?

🍆

( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!"

Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices.

If you know what they mean.

Wink.

(This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.)

Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." They can be fixed by indulging in the squares on your cards. For the sake of the TDM, you can use one of the pre-generated examples or a wildcard from the kink list. This can be used as a free bingo square completion once you have been accepted into the game. Players are welcome to wildcard their own TDM prompts; we only ask that you try to stick to the theme.

Haru has seen what the others brought in look like: strange, hairless ape-like creatures. So while this girl isn’t exactly what she’s used to seeing, the feline ears and tail and the fact that she has fur does ring familiar to her.

Hands behind her back, she moves away from the door in case anyone else decides to emerge.

“It is a lot. But the next time you throw a rock you should check to make sure no one’s around, if that’s what helps. For once I’m lucky I’m short, so it’s all right.”

Catra is used to people of all shapes, sizes, and descriptions so a small rabbit person? Not any odder to her than a small mushroom lady or a big lizard with a whip. Her first instinct is to bristle--to yell, to ask what right this person has to tell her that kind of thing. She pushes it down, but she's unable to keep from showing her annoyance in the set of teeth, the flick of her tail and the edge in her voice.

"Well. Good. I'll make sure to check next time."

Haru's good enough at reading body language to see this female is still on edge. Felines, while not as predictable and easy to read as canines, still have their own ticks that any smart herbivore would know to be on the lookout for. But she feels little danger from this person, and she tilts her body a bit as though to glance at the flicking tail.

"Guess they really just usher us out and have us looking for a place to stay all on our own, huh? Though kidnappers are never all that accommodating to begin with..." She speaks of it as though she has experience (which she does, but the circumstances were a lot more life-threatening and dire), and crossing her arms she rests her hand on her chin thoughtfully. "...anyway, it was nice meeting you!"

And she is going to head forward, walking past Catra, as though to start to try to find a place to stay. Despite being very small and very vulnerable looking...

Catra blinks as the small creature just... seems so chipper about the whole situation. She frowns, confusion roiling in her chest. She's alone here--what would Adora do? she takes a breath, but then Haru is already moving past her--

"Hey, wait!" Catra turns to try and fall in to walk alongside Haru.

"...You shouldn't go out there alone," she adds in a mutter, looking up and away. It's not like she's trying to be a better person or anything, honestly.

It might take a bit of brainpower to fall into step with Haru, considering their difference in size. She does take big strides and walks relatively fast, all things considered, but it's certainly easy for a taller person to overstep and walk past her if not careful.

She wasn't sure if this person was going to follow her, and honestly a herbivore should know better than to her back to someone who registers as a predator, but Haru is someone who tries to take things in stride. This whole thing? Is one of those.

"I'm used to being alone," she doesn't sound particularly sad about it, just matter-of-fact, but there is amusement in her voice as Catra follows her. "But I won't say no to some company." As she walks, she takes a moment to look at her device, which has been beeping on and off since she got outside. Eyes flick over as she scrolls through the messages, and then wrinkles her nose.

"Plus you don't seem like a sex pest like the people chatting away on...whatever website or phone service this thing is connected to."

Catra isn't sure what to say to that. I'm used to being alone. It's familiar to her, painfully so. And part of her is, she admits, a little worried about this tiny bunny girl wandering off and maybe getting pounced on by someone. Or something. So she awkwardly does her best not to outpace Haru.

"I..." She hesitates, then takes the plunge. "Me too. I mean, I'm used to being alone too," she says awkwardly. The conversation scurries onwards and with some relief, she addresses the other topic.

"Yeah, ugh. I have no idea why these people are messaging me with stuff like that. I have a girlfriend you creeps..." she says to the theoretical sex pests.

She notes the awkwardness, but knows well enough to leave it alone. She sets the device aside, walking a few more paces along with Catra who is doing a good job not outpacing her, before come to stop at a derelict building whose door had fallen off its slider. Her ears prick forward, though her vision sucks in such low light.

She steps away from the door, scratching her head thoughtfully. "Usually you know the people messaging you directly for sex." Saying it from experience. "I have someone I'm committed to back home too, so I'm not interested. But even if I didn't, I wouldn't want to respond to these weirdos."

Looking up at Catra, she gestures a bit to the dark space in front of her. "You can see in low light, right? You know us herbivores...we're terrible at seeing in the dark."
heterochrocatic: (100 » Oh when I'm like this)

[personal profile] heterochrocatic 2020-05-22 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"It's a new experience for me," Catra admits in response to Haru's first comment. She peers into the dimly lit building in front of them, frowning, before Haru's voice jolts her back to the present. Was she being asked if she could see?

"Oh, yeah. I have pretty good eyesight," Catra says. "I dunno what being a herbivore has to do with it, though." She squints--with the ark sky and pale moon above and the dimness in the building, it's hard to make out too much detail.

"Some kind of shop, I think. I don't see anything moving, at least."
