TDM 001: TFLU

( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm. Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person. It's time for... Texts From Last Universe ( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?! ( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit) ( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending: Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor. 10/10 would ride it into the sunset. This user thinks you're attractive. u up? 🍆 ( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!" Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices. If you know what they mean. Wink. (This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.) Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." They can be fixed by indulging in the squares on your cards. For the sake of the TDM, you can use one of the pre-generated examples or a wildcard from the kink list. i'm like five blocks from the hospital. Big building with the sign that's half falling off.

[ Not gonna cry yet, not gonna cry yet. ]

I know where the hospital is. I'll be there in a few minutes.

Please wait.

[Adora doesn't know why, but she starts running. Something about that last line tugs at her, makes her feel...worried...like this is really eating at her friend.

She's there in record time, coming around the corner, looking wildly around the street until she spots Catra. Slowing her stride, she marches up with as soft and supportive a smile as she can manage.]

...Hey, Catra.

[heterochrocatic]

okay

[ Catra doesn't sit still. She paces back and forth in the ruined lobby of some ancient hotel, arms wrapped tightly around herself until-- ]

Adora!

[ As Adora casually walks right up to her, Catra reaches out and wraps her arms around the other as tightly as she can, tugging the taller woman in close. Her head buried into Adora's chest and there's no sound for a long moment, just a muffled little sob. ]

It's really you. You idiot.

[swordsense]

[Adora is somewhat startled by seeing Catra crying. If only because it's Catra, and because she's still getting used to her best friend and girlfriend showing any sort of vulnerability around her.

She's quick to enfold her arms around the slender cat girl, pulling her close and bending her head to bury it against the scruff of her ear.]

...It is me. I'm here, Catra.

[She pulls back just a bit, enough to look down into her partner's face, and smile, as bright as she can. This is a dark place that she's not fond of, but for Catra, she can pretend not to be scared.]

I told you, I wouldn't leave you again.

[heterochrocatic]

I was alone.

[ Catra says it as if it explains everything. Which it kind of does? But also doesn't. ]

It was--all of you were gone.

[ All of you. Not just Adora, but Glimmer and Bow and Melog and Scorpia and everyone else who had seen Catra at her worst and accepted her despite it. The people who would have been able to prop Catra up in spite of her fear and anger. But she had been alone again, after all their struggles and it had terrified her.

Adora's smile is bright and shining and Catra can almost imagine she sees the brilliant halo of light that surrounds the taller girl when she becomes She-Ra. ]

You're here, though.

[ Even if she's still crying, there's another sound now, one Adora can probably feel as a that rumbling, soft purr vibrates out of Catra's chest. Adora is here. It's okay. ]

[swordsense]

[Adora nods slowly, holding Catra tight, looking down into those tearstained eyes. She relinquishes her grip with one hand, a finger moving to brush away a tear from just under her partner's eyes, the other tightening itself to make up for the loss of pressure there.]

I am here. And you're here.

[The soft rumble of Catra's purr sets her at ease, carrying her away to happier times away from dark places like this one. Happy days running together as children, more recent sweeter moments in the time they've been able to share, and in dimly remembered dreams of a sun-drunk future together.]

We'll find our way out of this. Whatever this place is, it can't break us apart.

[She wants to say something cheesy, and she's sorely tempted.]

We will figure this out, together.

[heterochrocatic]

No. It can't.

[ Catra agrees, maybe a little too quickly. But it's comforting and she needs that reassurance right now, when all the connections she's made feel so tenuous and fragile still. Her purr continues, growing in intensity. ]

And yeah. We will.

[swordsense]

Just like everything else. We overcame Horde Prime. We saved Etheria. This is just a weird town on some weird planet.

[She slides the hand on Catra's cheek back, cupping her gently beneath the ear, fingers curling around to play against the smaller woman's neck.]

With you and me together, there's nothing we can't beat.

[She wants to lean in for a kiss, she aches for it, but doesn't. Not yet.]

...I'm glad I'm not alone here. After it all, I don't know what I would do without you.

[heterochrocatic]

Yeah. Yeah, you're right.

[ The panic is settling down and dissipating a little, the anxious feeling that she is completely and utterly alone floating away in the comfort of Adora's arms. She takes a breath. ]

We're together. That means whoever brought us here doesn't know what they're in for. We've got this.

[ She smiles a little, then tilts her head so she can nudge for the kiss herself. ]

[swordsense]

They have no idea what kind of trouble they've bought for themselves.

[Separating Adora from her friends had proven to be a bad idea, over and over again. Catra can attest to that personally.

But right now, raising hell is far from her thoughts. Adora tilts her head forward to give Catra a soft kiss. Gentle, sweet...another physical reminder that she is there and that they're safe.]

[heterochrocatic]

[ Oh. A kiss. Catra's purr builds and she she simple melts against Adora as she feels warm lips against her own. This is what she needed. She's not alone. She can get through this, as long as Adora is here with her. ]

Ready to go play hero again, huh?

[swordsense]

I'm ready if you are.

[She won't go at this alone. She can't. Not without her emotional support catgirl partner.]

[heterochrocatic]

Always.

[ Catra gives a a nod. If they're together, she'll go to the deepest, darkest places in the universe.. ]

[swordsense]

[Adora nods, drawing back enough to pull out the little phone device thing.]

...So, still think I'm a creep?

[She can't not.]

[heterochrocatic]

[ Catra GROANS and shoves a hand into Adora's face. ]

Shut up!

[swordsense]

Haha...

[Adora laughs and pulls back the rest of the way, finally flipping through everything. She stops on the A5 card because of course she does...]

Heh...did you get one of these too?

[heterochrocatic]

[ Catra sighs and pulls her own up, resigned to this nonsense. ]

Yeah. It's weird.

[swordsense]

Do you think we...have to? I mean...you know...

[Adora isn't opposed to the idea on principle. But also, it is freaking weird.]

This whole town is so screwed up.

[heterochrocatic]

Calling it a town is generous. It's all falling to pieces...

[ Catra sighs, pinches the bridge of her nose. ]

I mean. They definitely seem to want us to, but I can't say if it's a good idea...

[swordsense]

I've seem worse.

[First Ones Ruins. The various towns after Horde Prime's invasion. A lot of places.

She...also can't quite hide the blush creeping up from under her collar towards her cheeks.]

...and no? You don't think it could hurt though, right?

[heterochrocatic]

There's also no people, Adora.

[ Oh. Adora is blushing? Hm. Catra purses her lips. ]

...Probably not but is that really something you want to think about now?

[swordsense]

...Not right this second, no.

[She's making the most ridiculous face. Don't call her out.]

We need to find shelter, first. This definitely doesn't feel like the kinda place that we can just blast out of immediately. It's like space, but we don't have Mara's ship.

[heterochrocatic]

But you were thinking about it.

[ Catra smirks because she CAUGHT YOU ADORA. As Adora continues, though her expression falters. She isn't sure she buys that comparison. ]

How is it like space?

[swordsense]

Moving on...

[Don't BE LIKE THIS CATRA.]

...And how isn't it? We're on a different planet right? This can't be Etheria!

[heterochrocatic]

[ Catra slinks around Adora, stepping into her path and getting niiiice and close, her purr starting up again. ]

No, I wanna know what you were thinking, Adora~.

[ She rolls her eyes. ]

Okay, other planet. I thought you meant like being aboard Darla.
