TDM 001

TDM 001: TFLU

( 1 ) After leaving the teleportation chamber, you are gently coaxed out of the hospital and encouraged to find a place to stay. Maybe you've had time to check out your A5 app. Maybe you're just settling in. It's cloudy, overcast, cold -- you'll want to seek out someplace warm.

Also, your device is beeping. A lot. The tech on the island works, it just doesn't work right. You can't seem to send a message to the correct person.

It's time for...

Texts From Last Universe

( 2 ) What's this? Your bingo card has just been beamed to a stranger's inbox...?!
( sample A5 cards -- NSFW, may contain triggering content, please feel free to use/ignore as you see fit)

( 3 ) And now you're receiving messages from other users that they don't remember sending:

Nice shirt. It would look better on my floor.

10/10 would ride it into the sunset.

This user thinks you're attractive.

u up?

🍆

( 4 ) Once you figure out that the robots have been hacking your devices, it's no easy feat to track one down and demand they stop. "So The Augur wills!" they wail in a monotone. "So it is done!"

Any attempt to actually contact The Augur and get back into the hospital will be met with beefy robot bodyguards, who suggest taking a gentler approach to fix your devices.

If you know what they mean.

Wink.

(This is your overt kink prompt. Please label any threads accordingly.)

Note: All prompts are optional. The theme for this TDM is "malfunctioning devices." They can be fixed by indulging in the squares on your cards. For the sake of the TDM, you can use one of the pre-generated examples or a wildcard from the kink list. This can be used as a free bingo square completion once you have been accepted into the game. Players are welcome to wildcard their own TDM prompts; we only ask that you try to stick to the theme.

No. [Does this noir film private detective aesthetic make him look like a zookeeper?]

Just making sure there won't be any nasty surprises. [John turns and picks up a couple of thick blankets. He's amassed a pile, so he doesn't mind sharing. For now.]

Here. You'll need these, if you're moving in. [The floor is cold and the furniture isn't sufficient.]
analienprince: (t ) look over)

[Well, no, but he's the one bringing up wild animals!]

What counts as a nasty surprise exactly? [Because that's potentially pretty broad and Teddy might count as one just by virtue of being near if this guy has a thing against aliens or shapeshifters.

Still, he's offering blankets and Teddy doesn't mind taking him up on the offer.]

Really? Thanks... Uh, if you need help moving anything or getting settled in, I can chip in. I can even do some cleaning up.

Getting up to take a leak and seeing a feral mutt in the doorway? [Demonic entities he can deal with. He's not interested in babysitting or feeding someone else's pet.

He doesn't have anything to move around; he wasn't planning on staying long. But the offer to clean up is a little too good to resist.]

Could do with a bit of sprucing up I suppose. [There's old broken furniture to be cleared out and dusty curtains that could be turned into decent bedding.]
analienprince: (t ) beaten up)

[personal profile] analienprince 2020-05-27 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not going to adopt any weird animals! Especially tonight. [He mostly just wants to get some rest and try not to freak out about their current predicament.]

Then I can do that, sure. [It isn't like any of that would be an issue for him, dragging out old furniture, getting the place homey again.]

Oh, uh... I guess if you're not kicking me out-- I'm Teddy.

[If he was kicking Teddy out would he have not introduced himself? What a bizarre fellow.] John. And it can wait until tomorrow. Go make yourself at home.
analienprince: (t ) yeah well)

[personal profile] analienprince 2020-05-31 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[That is a good point, and Teddy offers up a quick smile.]

Sure... thanks again. You'd think they could have at least had a room ready, right?

Not sure computers can make up some rooms. [Can they? It's a rather physical and manual thing to do. John's comfortable enough with one disembodied robot voice without a fleet of actual robots it can command to spruce up the place or terrorise the people or what have you.]
analienprince: (t ) yeah well)

[personal profile] analienprince 2020-06-01 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess you have a point... It's on us, I suppose. [Good thing he's at least used to being the roomie who takes care of most things. Maybe he can at least find some furniture that isn't a wreck...]

[personal profile] conjobs 2020-06-02 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Great, because John is most definitely not the roomie who takes care of anything, unless the house is haunted or there's a poltergeist flinging shite everywhere.

While that hasn't happened yet, John does have a tendency to bring this kind of bad luck with him around...]

Catch you in the morning then, squire.
analienprince: (t ) laughing)

[personal profile] analienprince 2020-06-09 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Squire...?]

Sure. Uh-- good night, John.

[It's a little weird to be sleeping anywhere near a total stranger, but Teddy is also a little too tired to care at this point, so he'll just be going off to catch some rest.]
