TDM 009: I'M IN LIKE WITH YOU |
00. Arrival![]() This time, you come out of the water, the Nameless Island's own inherent energy drawing people in. It's like being suspended between realities and abruptly pushed from behind through a rift in dimensions. It may make you sick, or that might be the motion of the ocean, lifting you to the surface and carrying you to shore. Waterlogged and covered in sand, new arrivals will be greeted by robots who welcome them with towels and bracelet devices. The A5 card is already loaded up. Feel free to explore the Island, though there isn’t much to see. Most of the buildings are abandoned and in dire need of repair, and beyond the city lingers a thick fog that obscures much of the wilderness from view. Wander too far into this fog, and you will find yourself mysteriously looping back to where you began, your memories of what you were doing and how you got there erased. With that in mind, it may be wise to stake your claim on a rundown apartment, a tent on the beach, or a bed in the “comfortable” new barracks. Your inventory will be found a day later, wrapped up haphazardly and delivered to each person's makeshift home. I. STARGAZER![]() On the first night that new arrivals wash ashore, the moon rises. It's full and beautiful and surrounded by stars. The robots quickly bring old, dusty telescopes out of storage and line them up on the beach to help people get a truly spectacular view. "Look to the heavens! Behold, the chicken, the cat, the owl, the donkey!" It's... the cock, the pussy, the hooters, and the ass. For the rest of the night, characters will become fixated on the specific asset associated with the constellation they've gotten an eyeful of. Whether this leads to some body worship or just casual appreciation is up to you. You can learn about the stars and constellations later this month in some of the rare, non-pornographic books in the library. (More info will go up soon, so please be patient!) II. STIMULATING CONVERSATION![]() An ancient courting ritual has been announced! It involves the give-and-take of candy hearts with slogans printed on them. Of course, since these hearts are being manufactured by robots, their sense of taste is a little... off? Or perhaps off-putting? "You'll do." "5/10." "Acceptable." "Sloppy Seconds." Receiving a negative heart makes one feel insecure, jealous, and submissive. "Be mine." "Nicest ass." "Swell bulge." "They're good lays, Bront." Receiving a positive heart will make one feel confident, boastful, and dominant. Your friendly neighborhood 'bots will give them out to anyone who asks - and maybe even those who don't. III. Eat Or Dare![]() The robots have set up a stall by the beach with a banner that reads: Eat Or Dare. They have procured bigger candy hearts than ever before -- fist-sized and larger -- with actions written on them instead of derogatory slogans. "Take a dive." "Lick me." "Get handsy." The name of the game is to follow the instructions or forfeit the challenge by making the evidence disappear into your mouth. Delicious! Those who eat the candy hearts will feel themselves getting giddy and unreasonably invested in the love affairs of others. They will feel compelled to play matchmaker to spread the cheer. Those who happened to be at the beach at just the right time would see a woman wash up on the beach. Her clothes and black details soaking wet after the rough ride in the seas of this place.
They could try to run up to her immediately or wait for the robots to rouse her. If the onlooker went for the latter they'd see her get up, brush herself off and then see her expression go cross as she seemed to be telling the robots off.
00b: House Hunting
After an explanation of what this place was like Accord saw no other recourse than to look for a place to stay for now. Everything else could follow later.
So began her journey! She would poke her head into any of the apartments and tents she could, weighing her options. Of course her rather single-minded journey may mean she would come across something that was occupied.
I: Gazing at more than stars
((ooc: Pick your poison on this one. Mostly interested in Donkey, Owl or Rooster.))
It wasn't too difficult to talk Accord into a little bit of stargazing. Looking at the constellations may tell her more of what was going on. Was this really another world? She had to see for sure.
Sure enough the constellations were completely unfamiliar. Not an unexpected outcome, but a more difficult one than she would have liked. She had spotted one of the constellations the robots spoke about and took a close look before sighing and straightening herself out.
"Well nothing for it then," she mumbled to herself before turning quickly and heading away, just in time to bump into someone who may have been heading towards the telescope themselves.
"Ah sorry I..." When she looked at them her eyes were immediately drawn toward a particular part of their anatomy. However she moved them back up quickly, not at all looking shy even if she was caught looking "I should have been watching where I was going."
Not wanting to part from the person just yet she asks "So did you just arrive like me or have you been here for some time?"
III: Eat or Dare
((ooc: Choose the dare))
Now more settled in Accord was curious about the little games these robots had put together. She was currently sat at one of the booths examining a candy. The robots had already explained the rules to her, but of course this was a game for two.
So when the first interesting person came by she waved to them "Excuse me, yes you. Would you mind helping me with this game?" Assuming they came over she'd smile prettily.
"I'm trying to decide whether I should do the act this little candy is describing or not. What're your thoughts?" She flashed the over-sized candy with the dare at them. She was curious how this random passerby would respond.
Wildcard
((ooc: Nothing fit? Want to do these scenarios differently? Feel free. Just PM me if you have any questions.))
00b
"Excuse me, but do you require some assistance?"
6O! <3
She took a moment to respond, but once she did she smiled easily "I guess you could help me, but it's nothing pressing. I'm just new here and looking for the best place to stay."
Accord hums and grabs her chin in a thinking pose "I know I don't want to stay in those rather dreary barracks, but otherwise I don't have a clue. Do you have any suggestions?"
♥!
6O couldn't help a small chuckle. "When I first arrived here, I stayed in a closet, so I guess I can't really say I'm an excellent judge of a good space...," she still remembered how people reacted to her just living in a closet. The disparity between android and organic experience was pretty well highlighted, then.
"But, I guess if you'd like, you can tag along with me! Surely between here and my place, you'll find a living space that suits your needs!" Couldn't hurt, right?
"YoRHa No. 6 Typoe O, at your service!" she let one hand leave the wheel barrow to give a small salute.
no subject
At first she didn't understand why 6O would stay in a closet of all things. That is until she made her full introduction. Accord's lips curled into an amused smile as she recognized the situation.
"You YoRHa models are so utilitarian sometimes." She laughs softly at the salute.
"I'm Accord, pleasure to meet you." She does a curtsy for 6O.
no subject
Thankfully, it fell right on its braces and didn't tip over, ruining the plants within, but it definitely dropped and 6O found herself just... standing there, processing the shock for a moment.
But it didn't take much longer before she was dashing over the distance between them, eyes wide, hands held close to her chest, and her voice practically shivering with stunned... happiness? Relief? She wasn't sure. But what she did know was...
"You know about YoRHa?! You know what I am?!"
no subject
She placed a gentle hand on 6O's shoulder "Yes I'm familiar with YoRHa and I know you're an android unit." She shifts her tone to be soothing, realizing how she must feel.
"It would be rather silly if I didn't recognize another Android when I saw them, even if I'm not a YoRHa unit myself."
no subject
Someone who understood, at least on some level, what "Glory to Mankind" actually meant.
6O felt herself come to tears, overwhelmed by the strange relief that washed over her. One of her hands moved to the one on her shoulder, grip gentle, fingertips trembling.
"I'm... I'm so glad! It's been months since I saw anyone not just look at my strange for giving my designation!"
no subject
"I would imagine! If this place is truly drawing from other worlds I imagine it's mostly organic beings that have been brought here." So beings who would have no need of such a designation.
Seeing 6O so happy Accord made a quick decision. She squeezes 6O's shoulder and offers, "Well then if it's not imposing too much, how about I stay wherever you're staying for today? It'd give me the chance to start fresh the next day and decide what to do with myself then."
no subject
Well. Okay, that made sense. The world they found themselves in was a difficult place to get used to, and 6O literally existed to be of service... though not strictly to non-YoRHa androids. She didn't really have a protocol there. But what she did have... was just a desire to be agreeable. And maybe just... spend sometime with someone of her own kind, for the first time in ages.
"Sure! My cottage isn't far from here! I'm in the middle of re-planting a garden that was destroyed by a blizzard, though, so it's a little messy... Oh! And the vines can sometimes get really touchy-feely, if you know what I mean."
no subject
With that settled she couldn't help but laugh a little at the mention of the vines. "Well I won't hack and slash them like a certain someone I know would, but I may give them a good kick for bad manners."
Not hesitating at all Accord moved over to the wheelbarrow and got in position to push it. "Lead the way and I can take care of this part."
no subject
"Sure! We shouldn't take long to arrive!"
Not long at all. The cottage was kind of obvious in how it stood out compared to its more wild surroundings. The garden project 6O had mentioned was the most obvious thing Accord would notice, several dead plants already cleared from the multiple gates and fences surrounding the main building, but several more fresh, green, vibrant ones having been moved in place, as well. Flowers of all sorts, vining and otherwise, decorated the outer gates.
She directed Accord to leave the wheelbarrow near a still mostly empty plot.
"Well... this is it! Home sweet home, for the moment, at least..."
no subject
The location they came to looked pretty idyllic all things considered. The blizzard she mentioned had taken its obvious toll, but nothing hard word couldn't fix!
She does as directed and set the wheelbarrow down next to the empty plot.
"It's a nice place. Did you just find it here, or did you put it together yourself somehow?" While she had remembered the little robots mentioning something about rewards from the Augur she hadn't quite understood the capacity of what it could gift yet.
no subject
"I had been distracted by that tree, nearly caught up by vines, when we both notice this place, covered in overgrowth! It must be one of the older buildings here..."
no subject
"Mind if I help you get these planted? It'll get done faster between the two of us."
After all they probably needed planted quickly and she wouldn't feel right making 6O do all the work while she just stood there.
no subject
In 6O's case, she had tons of internal datalogs to reference, built up over ages obsessing over flowers and plants back on the Bunker, but she didn't want to assume Accord had access to the same info.
no subject
"I should be able to plant these in the ground at least. Although I don't recognize what these are right away, why don't you tell me what they are and what you want to use them for?"
Accord happily prompted 6O to talk about what was clearly a hobby for her.

When they were done Accord stood up and brushed the dirt off her clothes. "Well that's done. Do you want to sit inside and chat? Although it did look like the little machines were setting some sort of event up."
Which she decided to add, "As far as I can tell these machines aren't related to the machine lifeforms we're familiar with. Have you come to the same conclusion?"
no subject
"Another one, huh...," suggesting it was at least a somewhat regular occurrence. She turned back to Accord with a small shrug.
"The native machines are definitely not like those of the Aliens back home. I'm sure if there was a Scanner here, they could tell us more, but their network seems pretty dedicated to running out this revival program of theirs."
Her cheeks colored a bit, as she went on, her voice shaking slightly. "They... haven't really explained how this whole 'eros' energy thing works, but pretty much everything they do is dedicated towards encouraging its generation, so..."
no subject
"Which is pretty divorced from the machine lifeforms of our world." At least the vast majority that she knew 6O would be familiar with "A restoration of organic life isn't usually on their agenda."
She listens to what 6O has to say and she couldn't help but smile. The YoRHa unit that was a little shy, it was kind of cute.
"I don't mind going to look personally. We don't have to do anything we don't want to do, right?"
no subject
"I haven't regretted any of these experiences. They've all been so... new and fascinating! I wasn't... particularly lucky in that department back on the Bunker, after all, so all of this is still really new to me."
no subject
Not being one for personal space she comes over and loops her arms around one of 6O's "Then how about we go have a look together at least?"
no subject
But it was fine! Accord could use someone with experience on the island around, right?
"S-sure! We can make our way back, and head back here whenever you like..."
no subject
"Perfect, let's see what looks fun then." With that she has no troubles just staying attached to 6O's arm as they head back towards the beach.
