TDM 002: IF FOUND PLEASE RETURN TO

( 1 ) Around mid-morning, a message from the Augur appears on bracelets all across the city. "New organisms discovered. Domestication in progress."

The wark of a chocobo rises up from the outskirts of the city. Several more join in, forming a charming chorus. And, strangely, this is when new arrivals begin to show up.

Beamed in one at a time, scanned en masse, they are processed just as the first wave was. There's one major difference: whereas the old guard was given their bracelets and ushered into the City, the new folks are also given... collars.

Buckled, snapped, or otherwise fastened around their necks, a variety of colorful collars with some rather unusual novelty pet tags. (These are just a few suggestions. The typical “If found, please return to ____” is also very much acceptable.)

"You are new organisms. Domestication in progress. Compatible Eros energy will complete domestication."

No matter how hard they try, characters cannot take the collars off by themselves. They need a partner's help - but not just anyone will do. It very well might be the first person they find, or it might take several tries.

The robots grow bolder as the day grows on, targeting characters who aren't new, as well.

"Y̶o̶u̴ ̸a̷r̸e̷ ̵o̵r̵g̶a̴n̷i̷s̶m̸s̶.̶ ̶D̷o̶m̴e̴s̶t̶i̶c̵a̸t̶i̸o̴n̸ ̷i̵n̸ ̴p̸r̶o̵g̷r̵e̷s̵s̷."

Their antics die down by nightfall, but for the next day or two, the occasional malfunctioning 'bot may accost someone in the street, so stay on your toes!

( 2 ) An abandoned racetrack lights up the night. That's right: place your bets, folks, because these birds are about to run around a track while robots sell synthetic, overpriced aphro-popcorn.

That’s right! If you participated in the orgy earlier this month, you'll find you have a stash of credits accessible in your app.

You've fucked money back into the world, so why not waste it?

(Opportunities to earn credits will come up periodically and won't always be sexual in nature, so don't worry if your character wouldn't have any yet.)

And if you don't have credits to bet with, why not get creative?

[ Well. That happened. Pretty quickly, too.

At least she'd managed to follow along for the most part since she was used to Adora and her quirks, so for the other girl to want to go somewhere private to talk about something? That said a lot of volumes all on it's own. Though it hadn't stopped her from smiling a bit once more and chuckling softly at that last part. ]

Alright. I get it. Say no more.

[ In a shimmer of bright purple, glittery light, the two of them disappeared and instantly re-appeared inside Adora's place in a mere matter of seconds. ]

So. Now that we're here, can you please tell me what's going on with you? You're starting to worry me, Adora.

[Adora doesn't separate from Glimmer even once the familiar buzzing shimmer of light that teleports them closes out. She just...stands there, numbly looking down at Glimmer for a moment before she shakes her head and forces a smile. And steps back, but not very far.

The place is nice, actually, a modern apartment looking little haven. Nothing too wild, but definitely better than the other buildings around here.]

This place is another planet. I don't know how I got here, or how you got here, but I've been here for weeks. Which...I know sounds crazy, but I don't know. There's probably some weird magic going on there, pulling us here from a When instead of a Where.

[that's her theory and she's sticking to it.]

...We're stuck. And I've been trying to figure out a way home, but everything's so run down, it's worse than Beast Island.

[It all comes out a little rambly.]

And I missed you. It's just been me and a bunch of people from other planets here.

[ After being friends with Adora this long, it made it just so much easier to pick up on when something was really starting to bug her. Okay, it was mostly that but the look Adora had given her just before trying to put on a forced smile was hard to miss. ]

Magic. [ Glimmer exhaled a small sigh, closing her eyes briefly. ] Of course it has to be something caused by magic. It makes total sense to me when you put it like that.

[ It was totally cool. The world's best chance at an actual savior and Bright Moon's resident Queen were now both trapped on a completely alien planet with a bunch of other people from different worlds. ]

Oh. No wonder you're so worked up, then. I would be too if I had been in your shoes before now.

[ If not worse because coming from recently having been on Horde Prime's ship as a prisoner/'guest'? Arriving here following that and being on her own for weeks on end would have been WAY bad for her general mental state as it was. They weren't alone. Adora especially was no longer alone here and neither was she. ]

What matters is that i'm here now and i'll do what I can to support you as always.

[Adora breathed in, then out, pulling the words out of herself. This is hard, because she's been confronted with a lot of feelings all at once and has never been particularly adept at dealing with those. She knew, she knew, that Glimmer would support her, and she also knew that Glimmer would have been in a much worse place if she had arrived alone.

Glimmer's presence also meant confronting a few things, like...frankly...the fact that they'd probably have to deal with her card as well as Adora's, or that Adora would have to double down on her card to get them both home. She didn't particularly mind, but it was something Glimmer was going to need to be made aware of, at least.]

...This place sucks. Totally sucks. But there's nice people that came her with me? Us, now.

[She smiles a little crookedly, trying to sound a bit more nonchalant about some of that. But she does have a bombshell to drop.]

Did you get one of those bracelets?

[ On the one hand? Totally unfamiliar place that was far, FAR away from Etheria. On the other? Adora had a point in that at least the people here were nice as they could have ended up with some really nasty individuals here. ]

Better than people wanting to kill us, so I guess that's a plus, right?

[ She was doing her best to try and cope with this weird place in her own way. Though when attention was brought back to that, Glimmer raised a hand up with the bracelet on it and frowned a bit at the offensive little item in question. ]

If you mean one of these, then yeah. Stupid thing won't even come off. What's their deal anyway?

[ There was this awful thought that if Entrapta was here, she'd probably have found a way to remove the bracelet already. ]

[Adora nods. She agrees, yes. It could be a lot worse. A whole lot worse, but she had yet to meet anyone really bad or anything. Mostly nice people, a couple of awkward people, but nobody who'd been mean or seemed unkind.]

Yeah. I do mean that thing.

[Adora holds up her own wrist, showing Glimmer the Auger device. It's identical, except maybe a couple of scuff marks.]

They're ways we can talk to other people on the island. And they have a...bingo card.

[Fretting her lip, Adora looks away. Okay, yeah this is harder than it sounds, but she's forcing her way through it. Figuring Glimmer's either not seen it, or saw it and ignored it in disgust.]

...Have you seen that thing yet? Everyone got one that I saw, and the robots will make things for us, if you manage to check off a bingo square.
