[ She wasn't exactly leaning over the ledge when she caught him, so it's not until he's hauled up over the ledge that he has a chance to get a look at the person who seemed to realize that he needed help before he was even aware of it himself, and it sets him back on his heels for a moment. Any questions he might have had about whether or not she recognizes him are answered before he could give a voice to them, even if words seem to be escaping her he can see the shock and recognition in her eyes. That wouldn't be there if he was just some random stranger on the street to him. No, if he's not sure of anything it's that he's not hallucinating all of this, maybe caught up in another of the city's experiments. Considering how crazy those can be, it's hard to rule it out.

It's also hard to deny what's right in front of him, as solid and real as it's ever been. ]

Gwen.

[ There's a moment that feels like it goes on forever, where they're just staring at each other that, in reality, only lasts a few seconds before he's crossing that distance she's put between them to catch her up into a tight embrace. It's the kind of hug that kind of implies that he might not be planning on letting go for a while. He's just so damn relieved. Wherever this is, and however they got here, at least now he knows that she's safe, and if she's got to be stuck here too, then at least she hasn't suddenly forgotten who he is. Which wasn't even something he was thinking about until just now.

He knows how lucky he is that he hasn't had to deal with that one yet. ]
