TDM 009: I'M IN LIKE WITH YOU |
00. Arrival![]() This time, you come out of the water, the Nameless Island's own inherent energy drawing people in. It's like being suspended between realities and abruptly pushed from behind through a rift in dimensions. It may make you sick, or that might be the motion of the ocean, lifting you to the surface and carrying you to shore. Waterlogged and covered in sand, new arrivals will be greeted by robots who welcome them with towels and bracelet devices. The A5 card is already loaded up. Feel free to explore the Island, though there isn’t much to see. Most of the buildings are abandoned and in dire need of repair, and beyond the city lingers a thick fog that obscures much of the wilderness from view. Wander too far into this fog, and you will find yourself mysteriously looping back to where you began, your memories of what you were doing and how you got there erased. With that in mind, it may be wise to stake your claim on a rundown apartment, a tent on the beach, or a bed in the “comfortable” new barracks. Your inventory will be found a day later, wrapped up haphazardly and delivered to each person's makeshift home. I. STARGAZER![]() On the first night that new arrivals wash ashore, the moon rises. It's full and beautiful and surrounded by stars. The robots quickly bring old, dusty telescopes out of storage and line them up on the beach to help people get a truly spectacular view. "Look to the heavens! Behold, the chicken, the cat, the owl, the donkey!" It's... the cock, the pussy, the hooters, and the ass. For the rest of the night, characters will become fixated on the specific asset associated with the constellation they've gotten an eyeful of. Whether this leads to some body worship or just casual appreciation is up to you. You can learn about the stars and constellations later this month in some of the rare, non-pornographic books in the library. (More info will go up soon, so please be patient!) II. STIMULATING CONVERSATION![]() An ancient courting ritual has been announced! It involves the give-and-take of candy hearts with slogans printed on them. Of course, since these hearts are being manufactured by robots, their sense of taste is a little... off? Or perhaps off-putting? "You'll do." "5/10." "Acceptable." "Sloppy Seconds." Receiving a negative heart makes one feel insecure, jealous, and submissive. "Be mine." "Nicest ass." "Swell bulge." "They're good lays, Bront." Receiving a positive heart will make one feel confident, boastful, and dominant. Your friendly neighborhood 'bots will give them out to anyone who asks - and maybe even those who don't. III. Eat Or Dare![]() The robots have set up a stall by the beach with a banner that reads: Eat Or Dare. They have procured bigger candy hearts than ever before -- fist-sized and larger -- with actions written on them instead of derogatory slogans. "Take a dive." "Lick me." "Get handsy." The name of the game is to follow the instructions or forfeit the challenge by making the evidence disappear into your mouth. Delicious! Those who eat the candy hearts will feel themselves getting giddy and unreasonably invested in the love affairs of others. They will feel compelled to play matchmaker to spread the cheer. Caduceus followed happily, casually smiling and offering a kind wave to anyone they might pass. It was really beautiful here, even if it was a little run down (if only Jester was here, maybe she could use her Mending on the place.)
Feeling his hand fall free of her's, Caduceus stood still where he was left. Looking over the shack, then over the oversized pup that decided to trot over and investigate. The Firbolg loved animals and instinctively knelt down so he was on the same level as she strange pet. His hands moved out, letting Cerberus give him a sniff before he started to talk to them. (And the animal would understand him!)
"Oh, hey, you're adorable aren't you. You remind me of Claireabella, only with more personality." Chuckling, enjoying petting the new creature when he was distracted by his new friend, offering her name non the less. "Caduceus Clay, it's nice to meet you, Persephone."
no subject
"That's Cerberus. Sometimes he has three heads and he can change his size." Though it seems the beast prefers to be around the size of a small horse. Not that Persephone is complaining. He makes for a comfortable cuddle partner at night when it gets chilly.
"He's the Guardian of the Underworld back home." She hopes him being here isn't a problem.

Caduceus smiled and pet the dogs head before walking over, closer to where Persephone now was. "He can? That's cool. I can grow bigger now and them but I don't really need to." He chuckled and made himself comfortable, sitting down. The Cleric's interest was piqued once more when she mentioned just what her pet was.
"Guardian of the underworld, you don't say? That's a really nice job to have, I respect that." Caduceus often felt like his family and he was some kind of guardians of the dead too, so he was impressed.

"Really? How do you do it?" Her brow furrows at that. She can grow big too, well, she did the one time. She hadn't managed to do it again since, and now that the Augur have taken her godly abilities there's no chance of her trying it again. Which might be better for everyone. No one needs a fifty-foot goddess taking up space.
"I'm sure he enjoys it for all the treats it likely affords him." She grins at Cerberus and reaches over to scratch between his ears.
no subject
"Hmm?" Distracted from the dog by Persephone's question. "Oh, it's a Firbolg thing. Think it's s'posed to make us look more intimidating or stronger. Never really had to do it, to be honest. Think I just have to think about it and it happens." A Goddess? If Caduceus knew he was talking to a Goddess he would have been even more delighted!
"It's only fair that a guardian gets the best treats." Fluffing the dog's hair as he spoke about him. "Are you a guardian too? Forgive me but I'd say you look far too gentle and kind for such a job."
no subject
"That must be handy." She wishes it was so easy for her to turn bigger. It would have potentially solved some of her issues back home.
She shakes her head. "O-oh, no. I'm not exactly a guardian of any sort." She supposes from some point of view she might be a guardian of nature. "I'm just the Goddess of Spring back home."
no subject
" Just the Goddess of Spring?"
He chuckled at that, shaking his head and leaning down, face close to Cerberus'. "Did you know that? Were you holding out on me? Not cool." Joking as he cupped the dogs face before continuing to dote on him with scratches and petting. Turning his attention back to Persephone with the biggest smile on his face. "I happen to worship a Goddess of something very similar back home. So, it's an absolute pleasure to have met you."
no subject
"Oh?" Her brows go up, looking a little surprised that she would meet someone that worships as Earth Goddess. After a moment she smiles. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well. What's your goddess like?"
no subject
"Well, her name is Melora but she's commonly known as the Wildemother." His smile grew so wide and proud like he was talking about someone he loved dearly, because well he did love her, with all his heart and soul. The Wildmother was his deepest and most cherished relationship and Caduceus just adored telling people about her.
After a while of explaining her ties to everything in nature, from the sea to the sky to the earth, the Firbolg then went on to talk of the powers and abilities she gifted to him. Of times he'd ask her for advice and she'd guide him with the breeze of the wind or a ray of light, and then of other times, she let him draw on darker magic, the ability to talk to or destroy the dead and undead.
Some time had passed and Caduceus had waffled on about his beloved Melora before he realises how much he had been talking. "Ah, I'm sorry. I got a little carried away there."
no subject
"Oh no! It's perfectly fine. It's really interesting to hear about all of that." She smiles at him, shaking her head. "Your Wildmother sounds really interesting and much more powerful than me or my mother." She can do so much more than either goddess.
no subject
"You or your mother?" He was curious now, more so than before. He knew there was something special about her and her dog but the way she brought it up just then when he was talking about the Wildmother made him all the more curious about her.
no subject
She nods. "My mother is the Goddess of the Harvest, though she used to be in charge of spring before she had me. Our abilities are really similar. Unlike your Wildmother, we only hold power over the land and the plants growing there."
