00. Arrival![]() This time, you come out of the water, the Nameless Island's own inherent energy drawing people in. It's like being suspended between realities and abruptly pushed from behind through a rift in dimensions. It may make you sick, or that might be the motion of the ocean, lifting you to the surface and carrying you to shore. Waterlogged and covered in sand, new arrivals will be greeted by robots who welcome them with towels and bracelet devices. The A5 card is already loaded up. Feel free to explore the Island, though there isn’t much to see. Most of the buildings are abandoned and in dire need of repair, and beyond the city lingers a thick fog that obscures much of the wilderness from view. Wander too far into this fog, and you will find yourself mysteriously looping back to where you began, your memories of what you were doing and how you got there erased. With that in mind, it may be wise to stake your claim on a rundown apartment, a tent on the beach, or a bed in the “comfortable” new barracks. Your inventory will be found a day later, wrapped up haphazardly and delivered to each person's makeshift home. I. STARGAZER![]() On the first night that new arrivals wash ashore, the moon rises. It's full and beautiful and surrounded by stars. The robots quickly bring old, dusty telescopes out of storage and line them up on the beach to help people get a truly spectacular view. "Look to the heavens! Behold, the chicken, the cat, the owl, the donkey!" It's... the cock, the pussy, the hooters, and the ass. For the rest of the night, characters will become fixated on the specific asset associated with the constellation they've gotten an eyeful of. Whether this leads to some body worship or just casual appreciation is up to you. You can learn about the stars and constellations later this month in some of the rare, non-pornographic books in the library. (More info will go up soon, so please be patient!) II. STIMULATING CONVERSATION![]() An ancient courting ritual has been announced! It involves the give-and-take of candy hearts with slogans printed on them. Of course, since these hearts are being manufactured by robots, their sense of taste is a little... off? Or perhaps off-putting? "You'll do." "5/10." "Acceptable." "Sloppy Seconds." Receiving a negative heart makes one feel insecure, jealous, and submissive. "Be mine." "Nicest ass." "Swell bulge." "They're good lays, Bront." Receiving a positive heart will make one feel confident, boastful, and dominant. Your friendly neighborhood 'bots will give them out to anyone who asks - and maybe even those who don't. III. Eat Or Dare![]() The robots have set up a stall by the beach with a banner that reads: Eat Or Dare. They have procured bigger candy hearts than ever before -- fist-sized and larger -- with actions written on them instead of derogatory slogans. "Take a dive." "Lick me." "Get handsy." The name of the game is to follow the instructions or forfeit the challenge by making the evidence disappear into your mouth. Delicious! Those who eat the candy hearts will feel themselves getting giddy and unreasonably invested in the love affairs of others. They will feel compelled to play matchmaker to spread the cheer. Go Chung Myung | Hotel del Luna | OTA
[ The last thing that Chung Myung remembers before surfacing, coughing and sputtering from the water in his mouth, is having set a single foot on the bridge to the afterlife. After over a thousand years as a tiny speck of a soul he hadn't expected his journey to a final rest to be so tumultuous.
Or quite so painful either. His lungs burn as he spits out water, gasping to take air back in as quickly as possible, and suddenly it hits him.
He stays kneeling in the sand for a moment longer as he gives a final few coughs to clear away all of the remaining water, before pressing his right hand over the left side of his surprisingly warm chest. The rhythmic thump that greets him still manages to take him by surprise, and Chung Myung lets his arm fall limp as he finally pushes himself into a stand, staring around him in confusion.
It takes him a moment to push the wet hair fully out of his face, and notice the robots making their way across the beach towards him. Without a smile he barks out a rough laugh. ]
She really is a capricious god...
I.
[ There's something mockingly cruel about his very first night on a new world having such a meaningful and painful reminder from home glaring down at him. While other people are staring at the various constellations, Chung Myung has been staring forlornly at the moon.
Up until a particular pushy robot comes to shove him towards the telescopes. ]
Should I?
[ And he holds up one hand to indicate it's fine, he'll go check out what the robot wants him to see so badly. Continued existence for so many centuries after his death still hasn't made him anything remotely close to technologically savvy, and the robots are different than anything that he's seen before. He's still not entirely sure how to interact with them, and is finding it easier to limit his dealings with them.
So he'll approach someone standing by a telescope instead, tilting his head to the side a little to try and gauge what set of stars they might be seeing, before asking. ]
Which animal are you looking at?
III.
[ His luck with these robots doesn't seem to be all that great. While Chung Myung is still uncertain around them, they sure seem perfectly fine with him, and when he wanders just a little too close to their stand to take a look one is very fast to shove a large candy heart directly into his hand.
He hadn't even been asked if he wanted to take part in this game or not. ]
I - stargazing
Looks like a donkey?
no subject
Ahhh...
[ He frowns slightly. ]
To be honest, it usually takes me awhile to make sense of the patterns in the stars. You must have a discerning eye for it.
no subject
[Kurama pulls back, indicating the telescope.]
Shall I try to show you how it works? I can't promise that I can explain the design, but I certainly can try.
no subject
A former traveler then?
[ Nothing about using stars to navigate seems off to him, though he was more often traveling during the day, and most of his night duties involved keeping watch. He offers an easy smile at the question. ]
I'd be honored to have someone who knows his way around the skies to show me.
no subject
[No need to explain more than that, and honestly, he was basically a traveller. Stepping back enough, he gives a primer to Chung Myung on the telescope and how to use it.]
I have it set to the right spot, so just adjust your view as needed.
no subject
As he adjusts the nob on the side to change the focus, he lets out a startled laugh as the image in front of him blurs and sharpens. ]
This is really something-- Oh?
[ His hand stills as he finally brings the stars into clear focus, and goes quiet for a moment as he contemplates it before standing straight again. ]
It could be a donkey.
[ Not the most helpful assessment ever, but he did admit he's not the best at spotting constellation shapes. ]
no subject
Of course, it doesn't really matter as Kurama seems to focus on something else as the darker-haired man leans over to view the stars... and for the first moment since being here, he seems honestly confused, because he isn't usually the kind to just stare at a complete stranger's behind.
Probably doesn't lose the look either as he's spoken to.]
Ah... well, it doesn't have to be perfect. Just similar.
no subject
It's similar enough.
[ Though, it doesn't take long to notice his new friend here has had a slight change in demeanor. Perhaps disappointing, Chung Myung turns around to face Kurama fully, eliminating direct line of sight to the ass for a moment. ]
Something wrong?
no subject
Oh... nothing particular...
[He smiles the best he can]
It's an interesting constellation... not one I have seen before.
no subject
He has a vague concept that this is another planet from his arrival here, though it's such a difficult idea for him to fully wrap his head around. ]
They don't have ones like these where I'm from either.
no subject
[As if to indicate this, Kurama holds up the wrist which has his bracelet]
This is certainly not normal.
no subject
He doesn't know what all of it means, but he understands enough to get that it's explicitly sexual, and grimaces some as he taps on the bracelet again to turn it off. This is about the extent of what he's figured out how to do from having watched people use smartphones before. ]
Whether it's normal to others or not, it's certainly strange to me.
no subject
no subject
Even you have something like this? You still look fairly young.
[ He says like he's some withered old man, despite looking to be in his twenties. ]
no subject
[Kurama is a bit confused at the question. Does he mean the bracelet? Or something else Kurama said? As to young...
Since he's not been pinged as non-human, he replies.]
I'm 19.
no subject
Probably not a student anymore then?
[ It feels weird to say as a man who never went to school himself. ]
