TDM 008: A WALK IN THE THEME PARK

00. Arrival This time, you come out of the water, the Nameless Island's own inherent energy drawing people in. It's like being suspended between realities and abruptly pushed from behind through a rift in dimensions. It may make you sick, or that might be the motion of the ocean, lifting you to the surface and carrying you to shore. Waterlogged and covered in sand, new arrivals will be greeted by robots who welcome them with towels and bracelet devices. The A5 card is already loaded up. Feel free to explore the Island, though there isn’t much to see. Most of the buildings are abandoned and in dire need of repair, and beyond the city lingers a thick fog that obscures much of the wilderness from view. Wander too far into this fog, and you will find yourself mysteriously looping back to where you began, your memories of what you were doing and how you got there erased. With that in mind, it may be wise to stake your claim on a rundown apartment, a tent on the beach, or a bed in the “comfortable” new barracks. Your inventory will be found a day later, wrapped up haphazardly and delivered to each person's makeshift home. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● I. SIX FLAGELLANTS Welcome, one and all, to a thrilling new location! Robots have worked tirelessly to build, from the ground up, what can only be recognizable as an amusement park. You are just in time for the grand opening of Six Flagellants: Great Advagtures! The Ferris Wheel routinely stops when lovebirds reach the top, waiting for a kiss - or something more daring! - before it starts up again. Robots warn of the scary Haunted House: a dark building with wall-to-wall creeps, and hot and cold running chills. Flickering ghosts roam the halls, and you may find an eerily realistic Headless Horseman -- who bids you, "Come closer. Give me head," while pointing to yours. Hey, get your mind out of the... Nevermind. The Carousel is a two-story affair. Nude figures with familiar faces lounge about, waiting to be ridden, and closer inspection proves that they have the faces of your fellow islanders. Hop on your favorite person and take them for a spin! There are even Bumper Cars, which have the interesting effect of making one feel more aroused with every bump and impact. (It's randomized each time, so don't try to guess based on car color!) What should be a similar ride, the Teacups, has the robots' madness written all over it instead. They have misunderstood the gentle spin-cycles for dangerous, dizzying loop-the-loops across a wide track. Some would swear that the ride has a supernatural invocation for fear. Others are simply man enough to admit they're afraid. Lastly, the Tunnel of Love is not what you expect. Although flavored lube and guides to cunnilingus are on each fleshy-log-shaped boat, the motion of the ocean is quite soothing, and there's a pleasant floral scent in the air that causes a light intoxication. Don't forget to try the food! Similar to the Street Kiosks, there's a ton of faire food: cotton candy, corn dogs, and the like. Mascot outfits are available and those who wear them will be rewarded generously with credits. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● II. LIKE A FIREWORK The next morning, you receive a message on your device: You are cordially invited to a celebration of skinship at the House of Worship. Please do not dress for the occasion. If asked about it, the robots will confirm that is not a specific holiday, but a simple joyous event. If you pry, they may even say that the Old Ones often made merry and partook in the pleasures of the flesh - and so too should you. For an hour, there will be food and drink - alcoholic and aphrodisiac. Then, at the designated time, once the sun has gone down, clothes will be shed and a revelry begun. As fireworks explode overhead, the different colors send the naked senses reeling: Red: You are amorous towards the people around you. Yours is a joyous celebration. The Auspicious Acts you offer are happy and lighthearted, full of kisses and sweet nothings. Orange: You feel bold and adventurous, eager to try something - or someone - new. Your preferred Acts may be dangerous or exciting, perhaps with more than one person. Yellow: You feel reverence when you watch the fireworks, reverence when you look at your fellow people. You feel blessed to be part of the celebration at the House of Worship, and you make the Acts you complete into Acts of worship. You are all about the spirit of generosity. Green: You are not here to celebrate. Jealousy is your lot. Uncover a new side of yourself, full of bitterness and resentment, and try an Act that treads the fine line between light and dark. Indigo: You are proud to celebrate! Those around you are lucky to bask in your presence. You have a newly-minted domineering attitude that makes itself known, and your Acts are likely to be something where you'll come out on top. Violet: These fireworks make you feel unusual - the opposite of yourself. You are different in all that you want to do, preferring Auspicious Acts that you may not have thought twice about before. A group shower will be provided after the festivities wind down. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● III. MISTLETOE Many cherub dragons can be found gathering together in the Greenhouse, working together to finish the cultivation of a new plant. They spend an exhaustive night decorating the island with the new greenery, which can soon be identified as mistletoe. You may think it's sweet of them, but don't get caught underneath one of these sprigs! Standing under the dragon's mistletoe will cause sensory deprivation - and of course, the only way to regain what was lost is to indulge in an Auspicious Act. (You may choose whichever sense you like, or even choose to be figurative, such as "the sense of reason" or "a sense of purpose.") ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● N A V I G A T I O N

[ Feeling the car jostle and move again made her feel both relieved and disappointed. She was reluctant to let the kiss break, but she wasn't going to push Ruby to continue, eventually pressing a soft peck to her cheek before pulling away entirely. ]

It was. [ She smiled softly, feeling quite warmer all over, still enjoying where Ruby's hands lingered on her. ]

If you would like... I could fly us elsewhere instead. Someplace where we could be alone...

The two of us... alone? [Her cheeks blushed at that as she smiled bashfully.] I would like that. I'm glad I met you...

[Kori was so wonderful, she didn't want the moment to end, honestly. Hopefully, this would mean something more further on, even if it's the two just being friends.]

I'd like that too. [ Well, obviously, since she was the one suggesting it. ] I'm sure we can find somewhere. Do you have a room of your own yet?

[ Kori hadn't really worried about that yet, although she probably should sometime soon. But the tents at the beach were also a nice spot, just maybe a little less comfortable. ]

I picked an apartment when I got here, but my friends and family have a barn they live at, too, so there’s that.

[If they need the alone time, the apartment might be for the best.]

[ Right, not getting interrupted probably would be preferable. ]

The apartment sounds lovely. You'll tell me the way once we make it to the ground and I can fly us there.

[ A pause, she looks out into the distance, then back to Ruby with a glint in her eye. ] Or we can simply get out of this seat and go now.

[Ruby catches the glint in Kori’s eye and grins equally at that.]

I didn’t see any rules suggesting we had to sit the entire way~!

[Maybe now would be a perfect time to show her her own style of flying!]

[ Kori practically beamed, delighted beyond words. Not needing any further encouragement, she simply squeezed herself out of the security bar, then floated up into the air, bursts of green flame glowing around her feet. ]

Let's go, then! [ She offered her hands for Ruby to take. ] Can I help?

[Oh, wow, that was so cool! She had to know more about what she can do! When Kori held out her hands, she took them eagerly.]

Just help me out and I’ll show you how I can fly!

[And once Ruby is free of the security bar, she pushes herself off the car and lets her red cloak swirl around her before she jets up into the air in a flurry of rose petals, returning to normal as she hung in the air briefly.]

[ Kori was just as amazed by Ruby's display, wide eyes fixed on her as she swirled up into the air, in a beautiful dance of wind and petals. She grinned wide, letting out a little 'oh!' when Ruby called out to her.

It didn't take long at all for Kori to speed towards her, arms reached out as she carefully took hold of Ruby, her weight not hindering her in the slightest as she carried her. ]

That was beautiful.

[Ruby laughed as Kori caught her, her arms wrapping around her neck as she felt safe in her arms.]

I’m glad you think so. Maybe one day I’ll be able to fly longer.

[ Kori was more than happy to take Ruby on a wide spin over the park. As much as she was eager to be alone with her, there was absolutely no harm in having some fun before then. It wasn't like they were in any sort of rush, after all. ]

You can always come fly with me until then.

[ He leaned in to kiss Ruby again. Because she felt like it now, not so much because she had to. ]

I’d be happy to! Just tell me when, and I’ll come with.

[And as Kori kissed her, Ruby returned it in kind. There was no more nervousness or bashfulness in this kiss. You could say she had a place in her heart for the woman now.]

[ It was exciting and admittedly a little unusual to her, kissing while up in the air like this. At least she didn't try to move them while their lips met, then she smiled brightly as she pulled back. ]

Tell me the way to your apartment?

Of course!

[Pulling her cloak so that it would flap behind Kori, she began to guide her towards the simple apartment she chose for herself, leading the woman to the rooftop and onto the top floor where it resides.]

[ The trip wasn't a long one, not that anything was ever too far away in this place. Finally she set them both down on the rooftop, letting Ruby stand on her own two feet, yet still reaching out to take hold of one of her hands.

She followed Ruby down to the flat, glancing around rather curiously, taking in the details even though she wasn't sure she'd find much, what with her having just recently arrived here. ]

[Ruby would happily take Kori's hand and lead her to the flat. It wasn't much, to be sure, but it was home. It had the usual amenities that were offered to the others, so there was that.]

I know it's not much, but I'm glad you could come and see it.

Of course! I was very curious about it.

[ As she always was, about most everything. She turned to face Ruby, reaching with her other hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. ]

And after our kiss, I preferred being alone with you.

Really? Heh, w-well...!

[She bashfully stammers at that, surprised and happy at such attention to her.]

That’s what friends are for... or more than friends...

[Her own free hand moved to rest on Kori’s side, smiling at her]

I'll be your friend. Or more than friend.

[ They would no doubt both need many 'more than friends' in such a place, and Ruby was certainly very cute. She found herself endeared by the fluster Ruby got on her cheeks like that, the stammering when she got a little nervous.

She took the touch to her side as invitation, and dipped her head in to press her lips to Ruby's once more, resuming their kiss. No Ferris wheel to interrupt them now, thankfully. ]

[And as Kori kissed her once more, Ruby returned the kiss, her hand squeezing Kori’s in return.]

[ She was more than eager to resume where they'd stopped at the wheel, so she took Ruby's hand and guided it to her shoulder, urging her to continue. Her own hand moved around Ruby's waist then, resting at the small of her back for now, just drawing her closer as she slowly deepened their kiss. ]

[She could feel Kori moving her body against her, urging her to keep going, to pick up where they left off. And Ruby would, deepening the kiss as well. To make things easier, she would lift herself up on her tiptoes to give Kori more to hold, her hand gripping her shoulder to hold herself in place.]

[ Kori took that as all the sign she needed, and promptly picked Ruby up from the ground, holding her close to herself as though she weighed practically nothing. To the Tamaranean, she hardly did, even still she was gentle and careful about the way she held Ruby, carrying her to any comfortable surface nearby. Either a couch or a bed would do, really. ]

[There was such a noticeable difference with how Kori held her here and in the sky. The protective nature of it all drew Ruby closer to the woman, even as she found herself lead to the nearby bed. It would be quite comfortable for what they would want to do.]

[ She climbed onto the bed first, her hands resting on Ruby's hips, tugging her and urging her along to follow suit. Kori was rather taller and definitely heavier than Ruby, so she chose to lie down on her back herself, urging her on top, hands reaching down to Ruby's thighs to give them a playful little squeeze as she coaxed her to straddle one of her thighs, knee already propped up just so. ]
