TDM 008: A WALK IN THE THEME PARK

TDM 008: A WALK IN THE THEME PARK

00. Arrival

This time, you come out of the water, the Nameless Island's own inherent energy drawing people in. It's like being suspended between realities and abruptly pushed from behind through a rift in dimensions. It may make you sick, or that might be the motion of the ocean, lifting you to the surface and carrying you to shore.

Waterlogged and covered in sand, new arrivals will be greeted by robots who welcome them with towels and bracelet devices. The A5 card is already loaded up. Feel free to explore the Island, though there isn’t much to see. Most of the buildings are abandoned and in dire need of repair, and beyond the city lingers a thick fog that obscures much of the wilderness from view. Wander too far into this fog, and you will find yourself mysteriously looping back to where you began, your memories of what you were doing and how you got there erased.

With that in mind, it may be wise to stake your claim on a rundown apartment, a tent on the beach, or a bed in the “comfortable” new barracks. Your inventory will be found a day later, wrapped up haphazardly and delivered to each person's makeshift home.

I. SIX FLAGELLANTS

Welcome, one and all, to a thrilling new location! Robots have worked tirelessly to build, from the ground up, what can only be recognizable as an amusement park. You are just in time for the grand opening of Six Flagellants: Great Advagtures!

The Ferris Wheel routinely stops when lovebirds reach the top, waiting for a kiss - or something more daring! - before it starts up again.

Robots warn of the scary Haunted House: a dark building with wall-to-wall creeps, and hot and cold running chills. Flickering ghosts roam the halls, and you may find an eerily realistic Headless Horseman -- who bids you, "Come closer. Give me head," while pointing to yours. Hey, get your mind out of the... Nevermind.

The Carousel is a two-story affair. Nude figures with familiar faces lounge about, waiting to be ridden, and closer inspection proves that they have the faces of your fellow islanders. Hop on your favorite person and take them for a spin!

There are even Bumper Cars, which have the interesting effect of making one feel more aroused with every bump and impact. (It's randomized each time, so don't try to guess based on car color!)

What should be a similar ride, the Teacups, has the robots' madness written all over it instead. They have misunderstood the gentle spin-cycles for dangerous, dizzying loop-the-loops across a wide track. Some would swear that the ride has a supernatural invocation for fear. Others are simply man enough to admit they're afraid.

Lastly, the Tunnel of Love is not what you expect. Although flavored lube and guides to cunnilingus are on each fleshy-log-shaped boat, the motion of the ocean is quite soothing, and there's a pleasant floral scent in the air that causes a light intoxication.

Don't forget to try the food! Similar to the Street Kiosks, there's a ton of faire food: cotton candy, corn dogs, and the like.

Mascot outfits are available and those who wear them will be rewarded generously with credits.

II. LIKE A FIREWORK

The next morning, you receive a message on your device: You are cordially invited to a celebration of skinship at the House of Worship. Please do not dress for the occasion.

If asked about it, the robots will confirm that is not a specific holiday, but a simple joyous event. If you pry, they may even say that the Old Ones often made merry and partook in the pleasures of the flesh - and so too should you.

For an hour, there will be food and drink - alcoholic and aphrodisiac. Then, at the designated time, once the sun has gone down, clothes will be shed and a revelry begun.

As fireworks explode overhead, the different colors send the naked senses reeling:
  • Red: You are amorous towards the people around you. Yours is a joyous celebration. The Auspicious Acts you offer are happy and lighthearted, full of kisses and sweet nothings.

  • Orange: You feel bold and adventurous, eager to try something - or someone - new. Your preferred Acts may be dangerous or exciting, perhaps with more than one person.

  • Yellow: You feel reverence when you watch the fireworks, reverence when you look at your fellow people. You feel blessed to be part of the celebration at the House of Worship, and you make the Acts you complete into Acts of worship. You are all about the spirit of generosity.

  • Green: You are not here to celebrate. Jealousy is your lot. Uncover a new side of yourself, full of bitterness and resentment, and try an Act that treads the fine line between light and dark.

  • Indigo: You are proud to celebrate! Those around you are lucky to bask in your presence. You have a newly-minted domineering attitude that makes itself known, and your Acts are likely to be something where you'll come out on top.

  • Violet: These fireworks make you feel unusual - the opposite of yourself. You are different in all that you want to do, preferring Auspicious Acts that you may not have thought twice about before.

  • A group shower will be provided after the festivities wind down.

    III. MISTLETOE

Many cherub dragons can be found gathering together in the Greenhouse, working together to finish the cultivation of a new plant. They spend an exhaustive night decorating the island with the new greenery, which can soon be identified as mistletoe.

You may think it's sweet of them, but don't get caught underneath one of these sprigs!

Standing under the dragon's mistletoe will cause sensory deprivation - and of course, the only way to regain what was lost is to indulge in an Auspicious Act.

(You may choose whichever sense you like, or even choose to be figurative, such as "the sense of reason" or "a sense of purpose.")

Kaeya Alberich ❆ Genshin Impact

[personal profile] frostworks 2020-12-20 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I. SIX FLAGELLANTS ; a real fun time
[The amusement park is loud and bustling, though the sounds of the crowd are a little different from the usual. Not that Kaeya would know what to expect from anything like this, anyway. It's so carefree that of course it's interesting, and so he shows up to poke around and take a look for himself. For the most part, he admires rides from the sidelines, so he can be spotted looking up at the ferris wheel as certain carts stay stuck for ages, or leaning over a bridge that overooks the tunnel of love as couples float into the darkness ahead.

After some time, he decides that's not enough and stops near the Bumper Cars again. For whoever might be alone, pondering the ride in one way or another, he steps up beside them, a hand on his hip as he looks in the same direction as them.]

It's interesting, isn't it? [Smirking to his new acquaintance, he leans down a little, almost like he's half ready to walk forwards.]

Should we give it a try?

II. LIKE A FIREWORK ; hope you came for a show
[It's near the time of the fireworks, and Kaeya isn't quite in the crowds, but he's certainly near them. At the back, eyes scanning for faces more than anything else, a glass of wine in his hand. He'll smile and greet anyone who passes, of course, but he's not going out of his way to say hello for now.

Still, the fireworks go off soon after his lingering, and that's when he really looks interested in others, smiling and lifting his glass in a small hello.]

    Have you tried the wine?

[It's not clear what color firework he could be under the influence of, but anyone he speaks to could be under the influence of any color]

III. MISTLETOE ; let's keep things interesting
[This time, Kaeya can be found beneath one of the mistletoe, fingers brushing against the leaves like he's focused on it. It's strange— this is a busy area, one that they could have passed by earlier multiple times, but that mistletoe wasn't always there, was it?

But now it is, hanging from such a busy area that plenty of people are going to end up walking beneath it and needing help. Interesting.

He's not actively hanging it, but it would be a fair assumption to think that he's the one who moved it here. For some reason... Hopefully you don't have to pass this way.]

IV. WILDCARD
[Feel free to wildcard anything too, or PM me if you want to discuss options! I'm open to most things and new to the character.]

[Prompto had indeed been looking at the bumper cars when suddenly the man steps up to his side, and he jumps, startled. He hadn’t expected someone to talk to him in this unfamiliar place...

But now someone has, so he turns to him.]

I’m usually more of a roller coaster guy, but I’m game.

That's the spirit. There's nothing wrong with a little variety, right?

[He laughs lightly, stepping along and into line. It's not very long, since there's so many cars that fill up quickly, it looks like.]

I've never done anything like this before. [He brings a hand to his chin as they step up next, waiting for the current riders to leave.] Is it normal to get into the same color, or separate ones?

I think it depends on if we want to be against each other or a team.

[His best guess. He steps forward in line.]

Usually me and my friends would just slam into whatever.

Mistletoe

[personal profile] thehapining 2020-12-20 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
[ Since she'd first been warned against the magical plant, Hapi had been keeping an eye to the sky-intending to do everything she could to avoid falling victim to this particular whim of the island. And diligence, at least so far, had served her well.

But even the most watchful made a mistake sooner or later. Slipping between a pair of buildings on a tried-and-true shortcut that she'd made her way beneath twice already in the past hour, Hapi noticed initially neither Kaeya nor his newly-laid trap.

Her rush to return home was cut immediately short, Hapi practically stopping in her tracks to suddenly look up and appreciate the buildings. The sky. The strange man she hadn't noticed just moments ago. What had been taken from her, as it turned out, was her sense of urgency. And even as her eyes wandered over the mistletoe, she cocked her head in confusion. ]

I thought that was supposed to make us lose something?

[personal profile] frostworks 2020-12-20 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, is it?

[Kaeya moves his hand away from the plant as someone else approaches, smiling over at the stranger. Interesting. There's no instant alarm, so it wasn't something like sight or hearing. His own sense of touch is gone, the feeling of the leaves completely lost, but he masks it well, blinking back up at the thing in curiosity.]

Now that you mention it, I may have lost something. You haven't?
thehapining: (Bite)

[personal profile] thehapining 2020-12-20 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think so. Hearing, sight, smell...

[ That left a couple more. Fishing around in her bag and procuring a small sweet, she popped it into her mouth. ]

Touch and taste. All check.

[ Those were the only senses, right? In the back of her head, Hapi could tell she wasn't thinking of something-but she also wasn't too concerned with figuring it out. ]

[ Lucio is here for much of the same thing -basically ogling the nice light display. It's rare he gets to see such uproarious festivities in this land that don't result in tentacle beasts emerging from the waters or some other grave danger. Granted, that could still be a possibility, which is extra incentive for him to be loitering about and admiring the show.

He's only interrupted from his revelry by a friendly mortal appearing in his periphery. Is that an offer? It's not as though the alcohol would have much of an effect on him, but he does quite enjoy the taste. ]

I have not, but it seems as though it may be an ideal companion piece to the light show.

[ He'll just help himself to a glass, only stopping short of tasting it when he recalls the last time he enjoyed something offered freely by the island. Fortunately, no one around them has grown extra appendages nor are they acting strangely, so perhaps it's safe to drink? ]

Have you yet sampled yours?
frostworks: (pic#14512851)

[personal profile] frostworks 2020-12-20 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, are you worried about it? I've already had a few sips.

[Is it aphro? Well, he's not saying yes or no, but it's true that he's had some, and he wiggles his glass slightly to show it. It is a little more empty than one would expect a glass to be filled, even with wine.]

It's not the highest quality wine, but it's not bad, either.
poopio: (114。)

[personal profile] poopio 2020-12-21 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
It is only natural to worry about putting foreign contents into one's body.

[ But this man thankfully hasn't combusted or spontaneously changed sex, so Lucio assumes it may very well simply be wine. Either way, he is far more concern about its effects on mortals than himself, so he'll just keep monitoring the stranger's condition as he takes a few idle sips. ]

Ah, a few more hundred years of fermentation may improve the taste considerably, but I, too, do not mind it. Were you looking for someone amidst the fireworks show?

[ It would seem strange otherwise to find the young man loitering about by himself, but it's not as though Lucio wasn't doing the same. ]
