I. BEACH ![]() Welcome arrivals, new and old! The skies on Erku may be perpetually gray, but the weather has taken a sudden turn to summertime heat. Fortunately, soaring temperatures have chased away more of the strange fog that conceals so much of the island, unveiling a charming, sandy cove dotted here and there with rustic love shacks. These shabby little lean-tos are dusty and sparse, but they provide everything one (or two, wink wink) might need for a little relief from the sun. Just don’t wander too far... that fog has memory-loss properties. II. DRINKS ![]() The 'bots are very apologetic about the whole fog incident, and they are trying to get on the new arrivals' good sides by giving out fancy drinks. Of course, they still haven't mastered the art of making things properly, so each drink has a little something... extra.
III. SNACKS ![]() Lo! As you ask, the Augur shall provide. Thanks to the efforts of your organic predecessors in restoring the planet’s Eros energy, edible fishes and seaweeds have returned to the ponds and the shores of Erku. If you fancy yourself savvy to basic survival skills, why not fashion up a fishing rod and catch yourself dinner? Just be careful if you happen to hook one of the octopus creatures from the deeper waters - they can be quite forward with their tentacles! Or, if primitive angling isn’t in your repertoire, you can always trade some credits for a tasty catch from one of the food stalls along the coast. Most stalls are manned by 'bots, but there’s nothing stopping an enterprising arrival from setting up shop. No credits? No problem! The robots have also provided a bit of entertainment, and any volunteers to man the kissing booth, get dunked in the wet t-shirt dunk tank, or grill up some fish - among other opportunities - will find credits automatically loaded onto the payment app of their bracelet devices. The 'bots are recruiting especially hard for participants to work in the gloryhole tent! IV. SPARKLES ![]() As dusk descends, the white sands of the beach suddenly come alive with glittering lights. It’s as if the darkened waters have carried a thousand shining stars from the depths of the sea to the shores of the cove. In actuality, each little twinkle is a bioluminescent plankton or jellyfish! Feel free to wade among them and admire their shine; even the sting of the jellies won’t hurt you... though they do pack a different punch. The tentacles of the jellyfish elicit a powerful aphrodisiac response, which gets the heart racing and the blood pumping for an intimate touch. The effects come on within a matter of minutes, and last for a few hours. Only time will relieve the symptoms, but a partner will help to make it more bearable. N A V I G A T I O N |

James T. Kirk of the AoS Variety
Arrival
This was... not how Jim had expected his day to go. What he had expected to happen after his usual morning routine was that he'd collect the dossier for today's meeting at the Opening of the New Vulcan Science Academy building built for Spock Prime, he'd spend some time with some stiflingly uptight Vulcans, spend the whole time tallying up how many times they called him illogical, and then maybe play chess with his first officer in the evening.
What he had not expected was to be beamed into a transporter room that was certainly not like anything he'd seen in the modern federation, and then ganged up and scanned by at least seven different robots and then shuffled out of the hospital.
This was certainly not New Vulcan.
"What in the fresh hell?"
Drinks
Verace:
Jim had always liked Irish Cream, it wasn't something that the replicators could get quite right without fresh cream, and well, the Enterprise is many things but a cattle ranch is not one of them.
The drink itself is delicious but about halfway through he can't help but feel odd.
He looks visibly confused, the desire to just open his mouth and talk is...
This feels familiar. There's a beat of panic in his face as he remembers the mission with a truth serum - and he immediately puts the drink down, turning away to get anywhere but here when he bumps into someone...
Conoscere:
James T. Kirk has never been a bashful man, nor even a particularly chaste one; but he has to admit that in the last three years of their mission the whole one-night stand, wham, bam, thank you ma'am approach lost it's exciting and shiny appeal after he left the Academy.
But he's not there, any more. He's not a captain right now, and as far as he can tell, none of his crew are here at all. What's wrong with treating himself and someone else for a night?
He slides over to someone who catches his eye, grinning at them striking up a conversation.
"Are you as new as I am here? Want to make it a night to remember?"
Sparkles
There are many, many planets with beaches that do this when the sun sets, Earth being one of them. The bio-lumiesence of some coasts have always fascinated him and to be able to just stand there in the beautiful water and watch-
Something solid slaps against his legs and he startles slightly. He can't see any seaweed, and the wave retreats from him in a slow roll, obscuring anything it might have been.
Does it feel warmer now? Hmn. It's probably nothing...
Verace
She bumps into a man who looked like he was trying to leave and immediately reached out to grab him arm.]
Are you leaving? Where are you going? Do you need any help?
[Extremely enthusiastic about helping people right now, she is, sorry.]
o/
Holy shit.

"Oh, I understand," she says to him, patting his arm soothingly. "It's always strange coming to a new world at first, but don't worry, your friends likely don't know you've gone. Spock was his name, right? Is he the friend you're missing most right now?"
I gotta sleep so ill get back to you in the morn ♥
"Yes. Yes? No? I don't know? Can a Crush be a friend? Is it still a crush if it's been going on for years? I miss Bones, but not in the same way. What the hell was in that drink?"
Help him.
o7
"Ah...hm...I don't know?" She laughs, honestly. "I would not be surprised if they were manipulated, but that's not such a big deal, is it? At least they're not poisoned." Manipulated food would not be the worst thing she's known robots to do.
"As for your friend, ah...well I think you answered your own question! You've had it for years and they've still been your friend, haven't they? You didn't give up your friendship back then, did you?"
Re: o7
Jim would very much like to die now, he thinks.

"But you shouldn't worry, too much. Just be honest with your feelings. Whatever they are, he's special to you and you to him and isn't that what matters most?" Friendship is just as important and just as powerful, in her opinion!
no subject
Yet.
"I also don't think I should tell him that I sort of maybe love him eitherraaaaaa-" Jim gets stuck on that last syllable because he really did just go ahead and say that out loud, huh.
He can't help but furtively look around to make absolutely sure that none of his crew are here.
no subject
"Don't worry, it's fine!" She reaches out to grab his arm. "Let's do something else and then you can think on it as long as you need to." She's gonna pull him along the beach to play in the water if he lets her. Something to distract him!
verace
Because clearly he was owed one.
Re: verace
"Oh! God I'm sorry, I'm just trying to leave because I'm pretty sure that drink was spiked and I've been spiked so many times at this point I really don't want to go through that again an-" Jim forces himself to stop speaking, there's an audible clack as his teeth smack together and he presses his lips together to try and keep them closed.
Already?
What the fuck?

He watched with something like amusement as the man finally managed to stop the flow of words, clearly angry at himself for saying anything at all. Interesting. So perhaps it wasn't making the man amorous toward whoever stopped by? Then what was it doing to him? Forcing him to talk? Interesting. Might as well put the theory to the test.
"You should be pleased that this ill-advised drink hasn't made you want to pair up with the next face you happen to see. I've met some who ended up with that result. Tell me, do you have a name? Are you from this strange place?"
