I. BEACH ![]() Welcome arrivals, new and old! The skies on Erku may be perpetually gray, but the weather has taken a sudden turn to summertime heat. Fortunately, soaring temperatures have chased away more of the strange fog that conceals so much of the island, unveiling a charming, sandy cove dotted here and there with rustic love shacks. These shabby little lean-tos are dusty and sparse, but they provide everything one (or two, wink wink) might need for a little relief from the sun. Just don’t wander too far... that fog has memory-loss properties. II. DRINKS ![]() The 'bots are very apologetic about the whole fog incident, and they are trying to get on the new arrivals' good sides by giving out fancy drinks. Of course, they still haven't mastered the art of making things properly, so each drink has a little something... extra.
III. SNACKS ![]() Lo! As you ask, the Augur shall provide. Thanks to the efforts of your organic predecessors in restoring the planet’s Eros energy, edible fishes and seaweeds have returned to the ponds and the shores of Erku. If you fancy yourself savvy to basic survival skills, why not fashion up a fishing rod and catch yourself dinner? Just be careful if you happen to hook one of the octopus creatures from the deeper waters - they can be quite forward with their tentacles! Or, if primitive angling isn’t in your repertoire, you can always trade some credits for a tasty catch from one of the food stalls along the coast. Most stalls are manned by 'bots, but there’s nothing stopping an enterprising arrival from setting up shop. No credits? No problem! The robots have also provided a bit of entertainment, and any volunteers to man the kissing booth, get dunked in the wet t-shirt dunk tank, or grill up some fish - among other opportunities - will find credits automatically loaded onto the payment app of their bracelet devices. The 'bots are recruiting especially hard for participants to work in the gloryhole tent! IV. SPARKLES ![]() As dusk descends, the white sands of the beach suddenly come alive with glittering lights. It’s as if the darkened waters have carried a thousand shining stars from the depths of the sea to the shores of the cove. In actuality, each little twinkle is a bioluminescent plankton or jellyfish! Feel free to wade among them and admire their shine; even the sting of the jellies won’t hurt you... though they do pack a different punch. The tentacles of the jellyfish elicit a powerful aphrodisiac response, which gets the heart racing and the blood pumping for an intimate touch. The effects come on within a matter of minutes, and last for a few hours. Only time will relieve the symptoms, but a partner will help to make it more bearable. N A V I G A T I O N |

So, probably, that's why a total stranger is talking to her. Elle turns, gestures to herself - with a confident if somewhat falsely so smile - almost sloshing her 'Verace' whatever that is. ]
Who, little ol' me?
no subject
[Of course, it didn't help that the part of her brain managing 'say hello to pretty people' wasn't actually in charge of the 'now what?' part. But she managed a nonchalant shrug, maintaining her little grin.]
I'm not looking at anyone else?
[Oh god what was she doing...]
no subject
Good.
[ She blushed at the grin. ]
Cuz I'm really having a weird time figuring out that I'm bi.
[ ...wait what did she just say with her own mouth? ]
no subject
[The blush made Velvet's grin get wider, sliding into a more genuine, if surprised, smile because she had never actually had that kind of effect on someone before. Of course, what she said turned Velvet's expression into one of confusion.]
...Bi?
[Crap, was this something she was supposed to know? It probably was...]
no subject
This was quickly turning into kind of a disaster, though, with Elle just blurting out what's been on her mind literally since arriving, and now the scaryhot lady not knowing... language. ]
Bi...sexual. Like, swinging both ways.
Wanting to get nasty with boys and girls.
no subject
Oh!
[And now it was velvet's turn to blush, though she tried to cover it up with a huff and another sip of her drink. And mostly failed, blushing showed up really well on cheeks that pale.]
I...right. That. Never really heard a term for it before. I...
[Another sip of her drink and a sigh as her free hand came up to brush through her hair in frustration.]
I have no idea what I'm doing.
no subject
It sure is the, uh, word people use.
[ One of 'em. Elle doesn't get the language all too well, except to talk about herself, and even that's a bit confusing. ]
...join the club? I'm Elle.
no subject
[Still. No sense taking that frustration out on another person probably just as kidnapped here as she was. She lifted her glass in a bit of a greeting as her other arm fell back to her side.]
Velvet. And thanks. I think?
no subject
Obviously, I don't know what to do with...
[ Vague gestures. ]
Wantin' to, uh, do stuff with girls. So we're both pretty lost eh?
no subject
[And yet, looking at the woman, she was attractive. And whatever might have been influencing her, she had to admit she was feeling that attraction? So that was...a thing...]
[She made a noise that was almost a laugh and shook her head, lifting her free arm in a bewildered shrug.]
Apparently? I hadn't realized I was lost till just now so.
[Life, huh?]
no subject
This place'll do that to you.
[ Hand on her hip, she sipped at her drink and stepped up closer to Velvet. ]
...but you did still get my attention.
no subject
I'm figuring that out.
[She agreed, though her voice trailed off at the end as the blonde stepped closer. Maybe it was the hair that had really grabbed her attention? She hadn't known more than a handful of blondes in her life. It was a very striking color. Amber eyes flicked uncertainly down to the rest of Elle's figure as she continued speaking.]
[Well, maybe it wasn't just the hair.]
[Even through her nervous uncertainty she felt a bit of strength, a flirtiness that she had never would've thought was inside herself.]
Well what are you going to do now?
[Not quite a challenge, but close. Also oh god someone stop her mouth from saying things like that.]
no subject
Elle still didn't really know how to turn on the sexy all that well, biting her lip as Velvet eyed her up, but here she was. Standing close enough to put a hand on Velvet's shoulder, leaning close. ]
I'm gonna start... by telling you that Velvet's a real pretty name.
[ And follow it up with a nervous laugh. ]
Then I should figure out where to set my drink down.
no subject
...Thanks.
[No one had ever said that about her name before. Honestly, she should probably get use d to 'no one had ever' about a lot of things, shouldn't she? With Elle so close Velvet could smell her now, she had no idea what to do. Did she want to pull away? To move closer? This wasn't anything she would have normally done so why...did she want to?]
[Maybe it was just the air in this bizarre place.]
[After a second of thought though, Velvet's free hand snaked out to catch Elle's glass in her fingers, plucking it away so she was holding both.]
...Problem solved.
[She said with a grin, caught somewhere between flirty and nervous. Now of course she had zero free hands, but she'd deal with that issue when it came up...]
no subject
...wait did she just have to tell girls the stuff that she wanted to hear?
Elle leaned in closer, still keeping her drink straight up and then Velvet took that problem out of her hands. ]
Better not drop it.
[ Was she really gonna kiss this stranger? No, they'd exchanged names. It was fine. Elle smiled back, leaning up on the taller girl; put her now free other hand on her hip, and lightly pressed against her lips, heart jumping in her chest. ]
no subject
[Her amber eyes went wide for a moment, and she might have pulled away if she wasn't already leaning back against the tree. So this was a kiss. It was...something. Nice? That didn't seem like the right word. It was definitely something. Of course, she didn't actually know what to do back, though after her initial shock faded away, she tried her best. It would be painfully obvious she didn't know what she was doing.]
[But she didn't drop the glasses! Just barely. It was very close. She definitely spilled them some though. Whoops.]
no subject
Still, she had to figure out if Velvet was confused or just apathetic. That was a bit harder when Elle wasn't experienced either, but she leaned into it a bit, humming against Velvet's lips and hoping she'd give some more signs. ]
no subject
[Still, she was trying. With the other woman lean into her like that, it was easy to let her head shift back against the tree, and instead concentrate on what was happening to her. And doing her best to return it. She wasn't a slow learner, but she was definitely mostly mimicking what the blonde did. With no hands. And at some point she had closed her eyes, though she didn't even realize it.]
no subject
Information could be gotten out of actually talking to people sometimes. ]
...hoooow's that so far?
no subject
Uh.
[So eloquent. Just give her a moment here. She sucked in a breath and seemed to mentally regain her balance before she offered the other woman her somewhat emptier glass back. And she was definitely still blushing.]
It was...[She had no idea what the right word was here.]...Nice?
[She said it like a question, but more directed at herself than the blonde. Look, she was new at this!
no subject
Elle took her glass back, but kept close to Velvet, hand still on her shoulder as she took a long drink. And then a longer drink. Might as well... finish it? ]
Do you want... uh, hold on...
[ Gulp. ]
To make sure it was nice?
no subject
I...
[Another sip of her drink, her weight shifting faintly against the tree. Okay. Now that the first step had been taken, it felt less...intimidating, somehow? Less like a boulder and more just a rock she'd probably trip over a few more times. Which was something she was much more used to. So she actually managed a little grin, with some real confidence this time.]
...I think I do, yeah.
no subject
Another shift, closer, pressed them together; heart pounding at how their bodies felt together. ]
...go ahead and uh. Touch me all you want, too.
[ Elle offered, and laughed nervously, and muffled her nervous laugh by pushing up again and meeting Velvet's lips with her eyes closed. ]
no subject
Touching. Right, because I-
[Whatever else she was going to say was cut off as the kiss resumed. Right. She needed to stop worrying so much. Was that the drink talking or her brain? Eh. Whatever. Instead she just let her attention once more settle on the feeling of the other woman pressed up against her, the warmth of her skin, the texture of her lips. After a few seconds she let her own glass drop to the sand, spilling what was left of the drink. Alas.]
[Touching had her thinking way too much about her hands too, so she just let them settle on Elle's hips, one bandaged, one smooth, probably a slightly odd contrast.]
no subject
Her lips parted a bit, now, testing a deeper kiss out while she pondered the contrasting hands on her body. Those bandages weren't anything she needed to ask about - too personal, right? Burns could be pretty nasty if that was the deal. Didn't really matter for... this stuff, anyways. ]
