The way back is familiar, a route traveled by them together several times before Xiao Xingchen stopped coming back. Along the way Xue Yang occasionally pauses to tilt his head back and try to catch the sweet snowflakes on his tongue, but he always continues on quickly, sometimes laughing either at the taste or just amused at his own attempt.
It's only once they're inside that Xue Yang lets go. Inside the apartment is a bit disorderly, not quite as well-maintained as Xiao Xingchen kept it but most certainly far from abandoned.
