"I'm not suffering. I don't want your pity." His face reddens just a little, although he's still turned away from her. How humiliating. He's used to having to rebuff people pitying him, but at least it's usually over something important, not...not this.

He pretty much is suffering, though, and it's only going to get worse the longer this goes on. He despises this feeling. Reduced to urges so strong they can override his considerably well-developed self-discipline - it's basically torture, and he feels like giving in is akin to surrendering to an enemy.

But is it really better to stay here? He might have continued his stubborn refusal if he were alone here, but with an aggravated sigh he realizes that it's not fair to Lioriley to keep her trapped here if she's willing to do what needs to be done.

"But fine. Just...do whatever works, I don't care." He remembers what the person in one of the dark rooms said to him about this attitude and scowls. He doesn't want to make this unpleasant for her, he's just...angry.

He rubs his face. "Sorry. I just - I don't know what your experience is and I don't have any preferences. So you can do whatever you like."
