The longer he floats here conversing with the dragon, the less he feels like fighting. By this point, his sword is down at his side and his posture has relaxed a bit. Seteth calls him a 'comrade,' and he just feels...confused. Why doesn't he know this man, when this man clearly knows him?
Usually, he'd reject this question, tell the dragon it's none of his business what he remembers or who he is. Now, though, he finds himself just answering it.
"I'm the captain of the king's guard in my kingdom." He gestures vaguely into the depths. "I was on patrol when I saw you. There's not much else to tell."
