Wufei remained on the ground as his opponent sought distance, crouched like a coiled spring. His master's master would have used a viper in the analogy, but Wufei knew better how deadly springsteel could be, as he wished to be.

"You see nothing," He scoffs, low and derisive, "A moment ago you did not even wish to fight. But I will not be satisfied so easily."

He is going to break your bones, Minshan. He is going to do it even if it takes his last breath to do it. There is no other future possible, in this world. The sand was firm and wet, beneath his bare feet.

But now it was Wufei's turn to grapple, a low, sweeping lunge, between Minshan's legs, as if to seize him by the hips, but shifting at the last minute into a throw, grasping the meat of one of Minshan's thighs, seeking to lift it and toss him off-balance and to the ground.

If he succeeded, Wufei would be atop him in an instant, punching. If he did not, then he would kick, to knock out the other leg, to bruise and tire his opponent. He himself would not soon tire. He was too ready to fight.
