TDM 014: A DAY AT THE FAIR

00. Arrival You come out of the water, the Nameless Island's own inherent energy drawing people in. It's like being suspended between realities and abruptly pushed from behind through a rift in dimensions. It may make you sick, or that might be the motion of the ocean, lifting you to the surface and carrying you to shore. Waterlogged and covered in sand, new arrivals will be greeted by robots who welcome them with towels and bracelet devices. The A5 card is already loaded up. If you don’t manage to get away from them quickly enough, they may even usher you toward the Laid Bare Spa, where new arrivals will be offered free massages, a sauna, hairstyling, and their clothing may come up permanently missing. But you will be given a complimentary towel to leave with if needed! Feel free to explore the Island, though there isn’t much to see beyond what arrivals before you have helped to rebuild. Most of the buildings are abandoned and in dire need of repair, and beyond the city lingers a thick fog that obscures much of the wilderness from view. Wander too far into this fog, and you will find yourself mysteriously looping back to where you began, your memories of what you were doing and how you got there erased. With that in mind, it may be wise to stake your claim on a place to live in the now, whether a rundown apartment in the City, a tent on the beach, a bed in the barracks, or your own space at the House of Worship. Your inventory will be found a day later, wrapped up haphazardly and delivered to each person's makeshift home. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● I. HAY FEVER A new mode of transportation has made an appearance! From one end of the fairgrounds to the other, and even sometimes off the beaten path and into the wilds, robot-horse-drawn hay wagons shake, rattle, and roll. And, of course, what are hay wagons great for? Anyone fancy a roll in the hay? Anyone who is taking a hay ride will see their A5 card flash - and they will be given the option to trade one square for the vehicles square. (New players engaging in this prompt can call it a freebie.) But beware! The wagons roll at all hours of the day and night. At night, the spooks come out to play! Rides will be "haunted" by frightful spooks played by machines and your local Islanders. The 'bots will hire anyone interested to don their favorite slasher costume or ghostly garb. After all, everyone knows that fear and adrenaline are related to attraction, right? Just another thoughtful service provided by your generous benefactors. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● II. Acute Beef Poisoning How about an eating contest? Multiple competitions are held throughout the fair: hot dogs, hot dogs, pies -- just use your imagination! Of course, there's always the chance that you've been recruited to be "eaten"... So sit back and enjoy the ride. For those of you with an exhibitionist streak, all contests are held in front of an audience. Be careful, ye who eat here, because the pies in particular have been known to have the following effects (with a two-hour duration): Meat - A simple aphro pie; a character finds themselves craving a very different kind of meat. Apple - Temporary amnesia befalls those who've tried the apple pie. The effects can be as great as forgetting your entire identity or as minor as forgetting what you've had for breakfast. Cherry - Look upon the very face of innocence! All guile falls away from this character, making it impossible for them to lie. Strawberry - The compulsion to follow orders may be strong sometimes, but the strawberry pie comes with the compulsion to give orders instead. Blueberry - Oh no! You're looking a bit... off-color? The blueberry pie turns a character's skin blue for the next two hours. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● III. BRODEO Last but not least, try the mechanical contraptions of various sizes - equipped with equipment of various sizes as well! The objective of this game is to last as long as you can. Thirteen Hand Sam is the smallest of the mechanical horses. It has no attachments, but instead vibrates until the rider orgasms. Mechanic Mike is the second mechanical horse. With a modest six-inch dildo, it bucks its rider around until orgasm. Persephone's never been on a hayride before. Sure, they have carts back home. And sometimes, when she was little, the nymphs would let her ride in them, but they were never drawn by a horse. She's relaxing comfortably in the back when Cinnas jumps in and takes her by surprise.

She lets out a squeak, staring wide-eyed at them for a moment before offering a smile. "Company is welcome."

Looking at them, they resemble a nymph from back home. She can't help but wonder if that's what they are. Though she decides it's probably rude to outright ask what they are.

Instead, "I'm Persephone."

Cinnis beams at the pink lady inside of the cart before swinging in, deftly landing themselves on the hay beside her.

"Cinnis! But some people prefer to call me Fish. I don't really mind either way," they offer a hand in greeting. "How did you find yourself in this cart? Come for a joy ride or something?"

Fish feels a little on the nose, so she decides maybe she'll just stick to the first name they gave. "Cinnis," her smile widens as she pushes herself upright so she can shake their hand. "It's nice to meet you."

A bit of hay in her hair catches her attention. She picks it out as she shrugs. "I've never ridden in a cart drawn by horses before, so I thought I'd give it a try." She lets out a soft laugh. "Silly, I know."

They shrug, beaming.

"Always a first time for everything! And whatever this whole world is... it's a first time for me!"

They gesture and flop back into the hay.

"Have you been here long?"

"Oh, you're new?" It shouldn't be a surprise. She supposes it is around that time that new people start showing up.

Her smile fades in response to the question. "Um...last time we figured out how long it's been it was six months. I think that was about a month ago..." To her, it feels like a long time to still be struggling to regain her abilities.

Cinnis nods at being new.

"So about seven months now... that's been quite a while! How are things here? To be honest, Persephone- yes? - I absolutely feel like a fish out of water with these automations and things!" They laugh at the way they poke fun at themselves.

Her expression likely says it all with the way she sucks her bottom lip in between her teeth and furrows her brows. "I guess that depends on how comfortable you are with... sex and how easy it is for you to make friends if you're here alone."

It's taken her up until only a couple of months ago to start feeling more comfortable in this place. Finding the right person has helped.

"I suppose it also depends on how much the Augur took from you, if anything."

"In a rough spot, huh?" Cinnis keeps themselves from commenting on their own situation. They're sociable and very comfortable with their body. This didn't seem like the right atmosphere to say they'd probably have an easy time of it. This girl on the other hand... looks like it's been a rough time living on this island.

She sighs in response, pulling the large braid over her shoulder to pull more hay from it.

"The Augur took a lot from me. Most here might scoff and say it's just a few abilities. That I should get over it. But... It's more than that, they took what makes me... me. They took my connection to the earth. It's so quiet..." She trails off.

Cinnis nods, listening empathetically. "I take it you're a druid or a cleric of some sort?" They ask gently. People with different skin colors aren't that much of a surprise to them. They themselves are a shade of lilac, too. But someone with a connection to the earth... it made them curious to what kind of person this Persephone is.

"I'm not sure what those are, but no, I'm the Goddess of Spring back home." That's not entirely true. She knows what those words mean, but she doesn't see how they would have any special abilities linked to nature.

"O-oh!" Cinnis is a bit taken aback, surprised to find themselves speaking with a goddess. But they suppose... well, this island or world, or whatever this is... is just that strange.

"A goddess... I'm honored! But I'm sorry to hear that your connection had been stripped. How can you regain it?"

"I'm not the only one here. Aphrodite is also around." And given how pretty Cinnis is, she can only assume the other goddess will scoop them up in no time.

"As for how to regain them..." She holds up her wrist to show them the bracelet device received on arrival. "Has anyone showed you the Auspicious Acts application?"

"Two goddesses in this place, huh," Cinnis looks at her, pretty fascinated. "But, tell me more! I heard it was a thing that brings fortune? Doing the things on that bracelet... But I don't know much."

Or more like, they kind of lost attention when it was being explained to them.

She wonders if she should explain where they're both from, but thinks better of it. Explaining that she knows Aphrodite back home but not this Aphrodite can be a lot to wrap one's head around.

Focusing on teaching Cinnis about the A5 Card is probably a better use of her time. She wiggles over to settle close enough for them to see the screen on her device, small as it is. "That's about the gist of it, but everyone's Card is different."

She brings her card up so they can see what it looks like with some squares complete. "When the device registers a completed task it marks it off on your Card. See? You can turn a single square into the Augur for small things. Like, um, clothes or a pet or something of that nature. The more you turn in at one time the bigger request you can make."

She closes out the app and sighs. "I've was told that if I wanted my abilities back I'd have to turn in a line of completed tasks. That is, they all touch each other in one of three ways; vertically, horizontally, or diagonally."

But was a line enough to get back everything? She wouldn't know until she turned it in, but she hoped it was.

"Huh... I see... that's pretty difficult," they pondered, taking note of the squares. While Cinnis was partial to male bodies, they wouldn't refuse a feminine partner if they wanted or needed. But doing it just for a reward... it rather makes them feel pretty sad. Sex was supposed to be like a celebration... something joyous and intimate.

"Do you need help with filling it up?"

Persephone's view and experience with sex prior to arriving here hadn't been great. And this place didn't make anything better. Now it just felt like a transaction. Two bodies doing a thing to fill a square and hopefully get something good out of it. Though she's since found someone she feels comfortable with and hasn't needed the aid of aphrodisiacs or the island mindfuckery to make things happen.

So the offer is kind, though she isn't sure if she should take them up on it. Her cheeks flush a little as she lets out a soft laugh. "Th-thank you. But, um, you don't have to. We only just met, after all."

They shrug. "Darling, I was a courtesan... no... a whore for a time." They shake their head with a bit of a laugh.

"I'm no stranger to doing things with someone I had just met. And I'm all comfortable doing it with anyone, really. But... that's if you need it, darling. I know everyone has their own thoughts and desires about doing it."

They offer a smile then, just driving home the point. "The most important thing to me about doing a thing like this is... it should be joyous."

"Oh." Her cheeks flush darker. "Um, well, I suppose it would benefit us both if you also have vehicles." She has trouble stopping the line of thinking that if she and her current partner share squares it helps them both.

"Though it might be more awkward than joyous with me involved."

"Hmm..." They have a look at their own bracelet, "well, I do have it on mine, if that helps. But, darling... well... to be fair, we only had just met. Of course there will be some awkwardness. If you're open to it though, you can just lay back and let me handle everything."

They shrug and give her a cheeky wink. "I haven't had any complaints about my head so far."

Lay back. Sure... She can do that. She adjusts her long skirt and moves to lie back before pausing and giving him a confused look.

"Your...head?" Despite her time here, she still hasn't learned that some words have other meanings.

“Oral sex?” Cinnis chuckles and beams, looking over her form laying on the hay. “Would that be alright with you?”

"Oh." Her brow furrows a little as she tries to reason out why anyone would go from calling oral sex to head. In the end, she can only assume it's because one's head is between another's legs.

"I-if that's what you want to do." She's had someone go down on her a couple of times now and while it feels good she doesn't exactly enjoy it. She feels like she has nothing to other than lie there when she'd like to be making her partner feel good.

She settles back, lifting up her skirt so she can slip her panties off. Unless Cinnis stops her for any reason.

At first, Cinnis braces themselves as Persephone moves. But there was something about the way she moved that kind of betrayed that she wasn’t quite excited for this. They reach a hand to stop her before she could remove her underwear completely.

“Before anything… do you want this? I’m happy to do anything if it makes my partners feel good. But I want to make sure you’d enjoy this.”

She sucks her bottom lip between her teeth and worries it when asked what she wants to do. She's still learning to void her desires. Something that's harder to do with a complete stranger because she never knows how they'll react. Cinnis seems really nice, though.

"Um... I'm just... I don't enjoy being so... passive." Her gaze drifts off to the side before looking back at them. "I like, um, making my partner feel good too."

Her general people-pleasing nature doesn't just go away because she's in bed with someone.
