"I've been saying a lot of something, even if I haven't been saying it out loud," Krem said, a little baffled that it wasn't getting through at this point. He scrubbed his fingers into his hair, looking at Chris with this lazy, dark-eyed look as they did pass into the shade of the tree they'd been headed to.

"I dunno. Weird. Not awful." He shrugged, licking his lips a little bit. "I'm not going to complain for one second if you want to keep me busy and distracted, Ser. Like I said, I could use having my stays loosened."

He was feverish, and his tongue was loose, but he didn't feel like running off with the first person he looked at. Maybe feeling like this would make it easier for him to let things happen, but he wasn't thinking about that. He was thinking about Chris's big, broad body and that admirable concern, and every moment of that got him a little more feverish.

"You can tell me no, you know," he said, frowning a little. "I won't be offended if you aren't interested. I was planning on being a girl for a night, if we ever did."

Okay, that last one was a little more embarrassing.
